Say Miami loses tonight and due to the luxury tax ramifications, Miami decides to trade one of the big 3. This would most likely means Chris Bosh gets traded. Would anyone here want this guy? What would it take, Greg Monroe? I don't think that gets us any better long term. Both are extremely soft on defense and Bosh is mainly a jump shooter now. Nope. Because he's soft-serve ice cream. If they lose tonight it will because of Bosh not doing his damn job as a PF.

I still think they win big tonight, and then win the title. But this will be their last one.

Bosh may be a better fit with Drummond due to his jump-shooting ability. He's even shown a lil 3pt range. But I'm not trading our 24 yr old PF/C on a rookie contract (even if he is due for a HUGE extension) for a 29 year old, making $20 mil per for the next 3 years. Especially when he's as soft (physically and mentally) as Bosh is. No friggin way.

Here's the thing- Miami is only trading Bosh to bring back talent. They don't care about the luxury tax. Riley said in an interview that with a new TV deal coming up, that will basically cover their salary.

If you want Bosh, you're sending back someone like Greg Monroe or Drummond.

^And truth be told, Bosh is a goof around, and Drummond is already showing to be a goofball with his silly vids too, I don't want Bosh rubbing off on Drummond, I hope Dre outgrows it.

The goofball thing doesn't bother me at all. Sheed was always playing around, but he still brought a nasty streak and was a competitor. Shaq was the same way. Hell, Bill Walton is about as goofy as it gets.

What you don't want is a soft goofball like Dwight or Bosh. Those guys lack a killer instinct and are just too "nice" on the court. But as long as Drummond steps on the court with the intention of dominating, and plays with some grit I don't give a **** how silly he is off the court or in the lockerroom. He can be as immature as he wants, so long as the man-child is hungry enough to eat the competition alive.

We basically don't trade Drummond or Monroe for anyone. Maybe Monroe for a better fit for Drummond, but we don't crap our cap space for someone that old and who isn't a game changer. Does Bosh even have positive value considering his contract? I'm even wondering if we take him even if all we had to give up was a second rounder. Seriously. We can spend 20M a lot more wisely, like get 3 or 4 players that fit our team, and not give up one of our best players in the process.

People need to understand our team is too young to excite any stars in there prime...Young stars in the age group of E. Gordon, Harden, Evans, George, Love or Cousins are players we need to target...Bosh would lose his mind if he was traded here...

It's hard to say if Bosh is worth the max + trade kicker, and if paying the difference between that and Monroe's upcoming contract is worth it. Bosh definitely sacrificed his role for the good of Miami but it's been a while since he demonstrated he was a franchise player. If he was as good as he was in Toronto I would definitely want him. Monroe will probably command the max (under the new CBA this is less than Bosh's max, and restricted due to him not being an all-star IIRC) and I doubt Monroe is close to as good as Toronto Bosh in the future. However, it does seem challenging for the Pistons to build a team around Bosh as their best player. Any success with that would require all prospects, even Stuckey, to turn out great.

Less ambiguously, I would definitely be interested in Bosh for anything not involving Drummond. Anytime you can acquire an all-star big man who is healthy, skilled, and not too old it is usually worth doing as a rebuilding team.

I actually like bosh a lot. I could see him flourishing next to Drummond, because right now his role doesn't really suit him. Having said that, i would rather gamble on monroe taking the next step forward than taking on Bosh who is a little too old.
Monroe might not reach Boshs ceiling, but he's not too far off that, and i think he'll get extremely close.

I also feel Monroe is more of a leading and we need leaders on this team.

Bosh trade value is dropping like a stone. They were supposed to be the big 3 but the Heat look alot more like the Cavs part 2.

lol, Guys this is chris bosh. you are correct in that he hasn't done sh* in miami, however its more because he doesn't fit rather than he lacks the skill set. HAving said that. hell no, Moose is more of a compliment and cheepr

Today is actually Monroe's 23rd birthday. He wont be 24 until the end of next season.

If we're trading to one of Miami's BIG 3 - and since LeBron is obviously untouchable.....it should be Wade. However, Wade is likely to be extremely hard to acquire as well. Miami fans probably want him to retire with the Heat as he showed great loyalty to the fanbase by re-signing there and also recruiting LBJ and Bosh there.

Miamis run has maybe 2 years left...WADE IS DONE GUYS LOOK AT HIM.

Bosh got turned out by the Miami lifestyle...He went from hustler to bitch in 3 seasons.

As Piston fans we need to wake up. I think if a Bosh/Monroe swap was on the table, Detroit has to listen. I agree that we will not attract free agents with the current pace we are going. I agree Bosh is a better fit next to a guy like Drummond for sure. I think we have to look at the impact of having a legit star on the roster can do for a team. Think Harden in Houston. This team sucks and this current tanking idea doesn't work. I'm willing to listen to a Monroe/Bosh swap as long as our picks, Drummond, Singler, and Knight are all out of that offer. Boston needs a legit C who can rebound despirately. It's just something you have to at least to consider. He'd also have to waive all opt out rights as well.
