POR/DET

I've brought this up in the past and I think it is MUCH more relevant now.

Det trades: Moose, Stuck
Det receives: LA

This should be a no brainer for both teams. POR is not winning with LA. They have the ability to save money, get a PF who is only 22 years old and consistently getting better. They also get Stuck as a 1 year rental. Should he not perform then Stuck is done, they can go that much further under the cap, and can grow with Moose. Stuck just might pick it up with a change of scenery.

Det is DYING for leadership. LA would provide veteran leadership and would give us the most dominant front court in the entire NBA. We would still have the ability to pick up and Iggy and or Allen/Jack to complete our rotation.

Would love to hear thoughts on this proposed trade scenario!!

If you can talk Portland into this you get GM of the year... however there is still a fair chance that Monroe winds up as a similar player.... I'm 70% sure that his range will be adequate within 2 years.

Moose is on his way to being the next LMA. Dre isn't championship ready, it would be more beneficial and financial responsible to just keep moose and hope he continues to develop which his past history has shown he will

I have to agree with Big Bird here. LMA would be really tempting, he's a top 5 power forward. But, considering Detroit's current position, it would be wiser to develop Monroe along LMA's path while not spending more to get the finished product now, when the team isn't ready to contend.

I'd rather have a 27 year old Monroe in five years, than a 32 year old LMA.

I really really like Aldridge and would love nothing more to see him on one of my favorite teams. But, he just doesn't fit into the Pistons youth movement. After all the losing seasons Aldridge has been through in Portland, he deserves a chance to compete now, not start over again. I like Monroe on and off the court. He has that desire to win and I want to see where that leads in Detroit. Win, Lose or Draw!

I like Moose as much as everyone else on this board. I just like LA that much better!

The above says it all. I really respect LA's game, but it's not the right move for the Pistons now.

Alridge is much better than Monroe. It is more shown on the defensive end. I'd love to add him but a team like Cleveland loaded with young assets and picks could easily nab him. Also don't kid yourself as we might not have Monroe in 5 years.

While what you say is accurate, I believe strongly that Lebron will be back in a Cavs uniform by 2014-2015 season!!!

Irving/Bron
Waiters/Bron
Bron/Gee/Porter
Thompson/Speights/Bron
Varejou/Zeller/Bron

This team can totally win a championship!!! YES, Bron can play all of these positions

Lamarcus is the best player on a 33 win team, Moose is the best player on a 29 win team.

Lamarcus has wayyyyyyyyyyyy more help than Monroe does. Lamarcus is also 5 years older than Monroe.

Monroe is already a better leader as well.

Easy decision.

I don't see LeBron going back right away but let me say this. Think if Cleveland drafted McLemore at 1, traded Thompson, Waiters, and Zeller for LA. They would have an SL of Irving, McLemore, Bron, LA, and Vajeao.

I cant see Lebron compromising his integrity to go back to that scum bag Dan Gilbert.

I know Cleveland is his home & he wants so badly to bring a title there but what Dan Gilbert did can't be accepted.

The NBA is different than any other league. It's a star driven league. One guy can make a difference and change a franchise. That only happens in the NBA. If LBJ wanted to go back to Cleveland, Gilbert would kiss his butt to welcome him back. LBJ added to that current roster would make them the best team in the NBA for the next 7 years with that young loaded roster.

It's not about Lebron going back, what Dan Gilbert did/said when Lebron left after all he did for that franchise is unforgivable I'm my opinion.

Why would portland do that trade?

LA is a better overall player. Monroe is very solid, but cannot play the role of an ideal second option like LA can.

No one really want stuckey, amybe as a backup guy that can play either pg or sg.
