Bleacher Report Trade Ideas

They have an article with a handful of trade ideas for us to do this offseason. Two were interesting, to say the least:

1) Monroe and English to CHAR for MKG and #4
2) Knight and Singler to LAC for Bledsoe

Could build a juggernaut defensive team with these trades:

Bledsoe
Oladipo (#4 pick)
MKG
Josh Smith
Drummond

Bench = other free agent signings, #8 pick, #37 pick, Middleton, Jerebko, Kravtsov

If we trade for Dipo and MKG I would keep Knight and Singler over Bledsoe.

I don't get the MKG hype. I would NEVER trade Monroe for him and the 4th pick in this draft.

You guys know Bleacher Report is all user-submitted, right? Anyone can post anything, as long as they've gone through a brief BR training thing. Nothing on there is likely to be based on even a rumor, or even remotely well-thought out. Not saying we shouldn't talk about them--I'm down to talk about anything that's not Shabazz or MCW at this point!--but making sure we're all on the same page.

I think we underrate Monroe a lot here. But we do need a lot of talent so I could see an argument being made for this trade. I don't love MKG, but he's already a really good defender, is a great athlete, has great size, a great attitude, and a world-class motor, and he knows how to play. He was actually decent on offense last year, too. PER of 14, 46% from the field and 51 TS%. Those are substantially better than Knight's offensive numbers, for example. He's also 19 years old. (People have called him Corey Brewer part 2, but Brewer was 40 lbs lighter and 3 years older when he came into the league, and he had a PER of 8.3 and shot 37% from the field his rookie year. He's probably a better player than Brewer right now, and he's a significantly better prospect than Brewer ever was.)

A move like that would be a gamble, hoping that MKG and Oladipo reach their potential and that we could pick up some really good offensive pieces somewhere down the road. Otherwise we'd be looking at a ton of 24 second violations with BK/Bledsoe, Oladipo, MKG, Smoove, and Drum. No one is a creator on that aside from Smith, and he's notoriously bad at creating good shots.

$1,00 is better than 2x $0,50. Monroe is better than MKG and #4. Bledsoe is better than Knight and Singler. If we can use minor pieces to consolidate talent we should jump all over it, we should not go the other way around tho. We need talent badly.

We are coming off 4 straight sub .40 seasons and we have very little to show for it. We could easily stay sub .40 for an entire decade if we do dumb stuff like trade our few good players for minor pieces. Especially with laughable head coach after laughable head coach.

No on the first, the second is an easy yes.

I don't read the bleecher report. In all honest its a worthless site. No real insight and it is most just made up stuff. I can't believe the run it gets. I don't go to it for breaking news. I'd also pass on both trades. I'm not seeing the Eric Bledsoe hype. I also don't think i'd take Oladipo at 4. I'd take Burke over him most likely as well.

both are terrible ideas, Bleacher is absolute trash.

Josh Smith is an even worse idea.

The only things BR has going for it is cracking the code on how to come up in google searches and the publics ignorance on realizing it's worthlessness.

Wait guys, crazy idea: We do the first trade, then also get Marion and #13 from Dallas (maybe send them Middleton or Singler since we'd have too many SFs). We now have 3 picks in this draft. What do you do?

I'd be pretty happy with Bennett, Burke, then KCP or Crabbe. Or a trade for a lottery pick in next years' draft.
