Otto Porter will fall to 8

I've seen several posters compare this draft to last years when Andre Drummond fell right into our laps. Big time prospect out of high school until a lackluster college performance let him slide. Well you would be wrong. This draft is not set to pan out that way because Shabazz Muhammad will not be a successful player in the Nba, the player who will be successful? Otto Porter Jr. A perfect fit for the Pistons I believe he will fall to the pistons and be an extremely valuable player who very well could be an all star. Similar to the way Greg Monroe fell all the way to the pistons at 7 seeing players like EKPE UDOH picked before him. I think this year we are in for a delightful repeat as a skilled and underrated Georgetown forward drops to us and flourishes at the next level.
This is how I see the draft playing out in order for Porter to fall to us
1. Cleveland- Nerlens Noel- Seems like they would pick him, and even though advanced stats favor Porter they favor Noel more highly
2. Orlando- Trey Burke- This one may not happen because his stock seems to be declining but I still think Orlando takes him
3. Washington- Anthony Bennet- Wizards are high on him on take a chance on his potential, to the benefit of the pistons
4. Charlotte- Ben Mclemore- There is no rationale for them to take Porter as they have MKG locked in for the near future, with Gerald Henderson most likely leaving they take Mclemore to fit next to Kemba, I think this pick could also be Oladipo in which case Phoenix would take Mclemore
5 Pheonix- Victor Oladipo: There in love with Oladipo and have made it clear that they will pick him if hes here, I think they would take Mclemore though if Oladipo is taken
6. New Orleans- Alex Len: Len has a lot of potential as a Big man and is an excellent fit next to Anthony Davis
7. Sacramento- Shabazz Muhammad: Sacramento is a wild card, new ownership and I hope they swing for the fences in taking Shabazz, this is similar to Golden State in 2010 when they picked Udoh over Monroe, hopefully the pistons have similar luck and the kings take Shabazz
8 Detroit- Otto Porter Jr. The pistons end up with a top 3 talent and a player who I think will end up as the best player in the draft, hopefully come draft day this scenario comes down, I think it could happen.
I also very much like MCW and think he would be an excellent fit as a big PG getting it to Greg and Andre down low, hes excellent at lobs and is able to see over defenses, I think there's a possibility that we can design a trade to get him later in the draft at around 13, all the teams until the jazz aren't really looking for PGs and even the jazz are looking for a shooter.

I remember reading that someone pegged Porter as the "safest" choice behind Dipo in this draft. If he falls, it's a no brainer, we get him as he would easily be the BPA.
Otherwise, I think I'd be okay with MCW or someone else. I'm not too hot on Shabazz since I think he's too offense oriented and lacks defense. At this point at 8, it really comes down to who falls to us.

Shabazz is certainly a flaw in your logic IMHO.
That being said,
Noel, Burke, Bennett, McLemore, Oladipo, Len and MCW make 7 and Porter isn't on that list. And those 7 could certainly be the first 7 picked. Another one who might slip in there is Zeller. A lot of people downgraded him as a soft center, but as a skilled 4, he looks a lot more interesting.
We need people to start drafting for need or taking a swing at a home run. We will get someone interesting at 8, and if it's Porter, i think we get a steal.

Yeah I had no idea what to do with Sacramento, I figured they would probably take porter if he falls, but then again there Golden State totally should have taken Monroe, I was thinking about Zeller but they really need an upgrade over salmons moreso than Thompson. I think it very well could be Shabazz

I would guess that Porter ceiling is the Hornets...No way he falls to the Pistons...

From what i've read, i don't think there's any chance he drops out of the top 5. Guaranteed

It is Sacramento, so it is hard to guess, but if I were their GM, I'd be seriously looking at MCW and Burke, even with Porter on the board. So if Porter makes it past 6, he could be ours. New Orleans could certainly take Len - seems to fit with Davis nicely.

IMO, Porter could go #1 to CLE, #3 to Was, #6 to NOH, #7 to Kings is likely his floor.

Could Detroit buy Dallas' #13 and draft MCW there?

MCW has a high chance of being top 7. I don't think he would be available by 13.

Right now, MCW has a quite small chance of being top 7, and he's showing up as available at 13 in some mocks. He's there at 7 of the 12 boards on NBA.com's summary of mock drafts. We shouldn't count on it, and his stock could certainly rise in the next few weeks, but there's an okay chance we could get him at 13.
I've yet to see any reports saying that Dallas is seriously interested in a trade with us though. Out of curiosity, are there any reasons they would choose us instead of another team below the cap? If Dallas wants to make that trade, you'd think some other GMs would be interested.

The other ideas are possible if unlikely, but this one pushes it way too far. There was a logic for GSW taking Udoh over Monroe--they were good offensively and abysmal defensively and had no decent bigs--and everyone outside of the Warriors front office still thought it was a stupid move.
But if the Kings were to take Shabazz, everyone but the Kings FO would again consider it stupid, and it wouldn't fit in with anything the team needs or is trying to build. No one has Shabazz higher than Porter on their draft boards, and Shabazz's only possible NBA skill (scoring at middling proficiency) duplicates the only strength SAC has right now. If they let Tyreke Evans walk, their lineup would be:
Isaiah Thomas
Marcus Thornton
Shabazz Muhammad
Jason Thompson
Demarcus Cousins
All of those players are ball-dominating, high-usage guys who don't have great offensive arsenals outside of scoring. Even their lame-o backup 3 John Salmons needs the ball in his hands to be effective. Shabazz would exacerbate the problem they had with Tyreke Evans at the 3...not to mention that there's not much chance Bazz is as good as Tyreke any time soon.

It's not out of the realm because there are a lot of crappy GMs picking in the first 10 picks but Otto isn't really an amazing fit w/ us but is easily the player with the least questions in this draft.

I found the massive sink hole in your plan. No idea as to why Sacramento would pass on Porter? No idea how Porter even falls out of the top 3, really, with Cleveland and Washington both eyeing him.

Sacramento taking Shabazz would be great comedy. Hope you're right!
