Weak draft class?

Post#1 » by ripchard32 » Sun Jun 9, 2013 2:35 am

Am I the only one who is rather disappointed in amount of talent in this years draft? Aside from the usual suspects (burke, mclemore, oladipo, shabazz) everyone else is just duh. Highly disappointing.

Yeah, it's said to be the weakest draft since 2000, especially since there are no stars in this draft. Most of the other drafts in recent years that have been called weak had a star at the top of it (Kyrie, Davis), but this one is a big question mark. Probably won't be as overall bad as 2000, but the star power might be equivalent.

And Shabazz isn't exactly a wow talent (but I guess none of the prospects really are).

I think there's less guaranteed talent, and teams will be drafting more on upside than usual. There's some terrific athletes in this draft, look at the combine numbers. But, their skill sets aren't fully developed.

I believe there will be more perceived steals from this draft in two or three years than we usually see.

This draft is weak in the sense that there are no surefire superstars. It reminds me most of the 2006 draft in the sense that there be a number of AS caliber players and role players in the draft.

I agree with you 2006 draft comparison but I don't think there will be as many allstars in this draft as the 06 one in my personal opinion. I see a lot of projects in this draft.

It won't have three all stars? Of the 06 class, only LaMarcus Aldridge, Brandon Roy and Rajon Rondo have been all stars.

I don't think this draft is as weak as a lot of people make it out to be. There may not be any "stars" in it, but 1-25 could all be very good-to-good players.....this draft is deep.

How much do we really need from this draft... the better value should come from cap trades... two starters... if we get a quality 6th man then the draft is successful.

I think its a very good draft for bigmen. There are potentialy 5 starting Cs in this draft. I know that doesnt do us much good.

In this draft you can get the same talent at 25 as at 10. Its pretty deep draft for non lottery teams. I dont think there will be many 2nd rders that will make teams but most playoff teams can get a future rotation player.
