“My desire was never to coach, but it’s funny because I’m actually coaching as I’m playing now,” Billups said Sunday night in a room inside American Airlines Arena. “Do I think that I could probably be a good coach because of my experiences? Of course, of course. I know how to handle different egos. I know how to manage guys’ expectations.
“I could be good, but my desire has always been a front office, president or GM role; [to] put the team together.”
pipedream, but its fun to think about
Just a fun poll, of course both Chauncey and Kidd would be rookies at their jobs, but seriously i would be quite excited and support such a bold move. Of course it would never happen, but if you had the choice right now?!

GM Billups I could get behind, he's a proven leader and has an unrivaled rep among his fellow players. Coach Kidd? Too much of a wildcard. His personal life is much easier to overlook as a player, than it would be as a developer of talent and guiding force for a team.

If Billups decides not to play next year, he BETTER be on the Pistons bench being groomed as Cheeks' successor!

Apparently Kidd would hire Frank to be his lead assistant.

Element of Jason Kidd's pitch to Nets, I'm told, is Lawrence Frank joining him on bench, giving Nets assistant w/HC experience they demand

I could get behind Chauncey being hired if Dumars makes an exit. It'll be almost like passing the torch since they were both phenomenal players that played with talent and knew who to get. I don't know about Kidd being the coach though, since I think he should be an assistant first before jumping the HC game.

After he finishes playing I'd love for Chauncey to come back to the Pistons in any capacity, especially as GM.
