It's just that it's really unpredictable at this point. The mystery is what is exciting.

While the draft is pretty weak, I find it exciting just because of the fact that it is so wide open in terms of who will draft who. Rumor today is that the Cavs like Len at #1!!! It will be a fun draft to watch but my hopes of McLemore or Oladipo falling is not likely, but then again I never thought Drummond would slide to 9.

I don't think we'll get quite lucky like we did the last couple of drafts, but someone that we need will most likely be there. I'm thinking Shamu, MCW, or CJM. I also wouldn't mind taking Giannis if we could take someone's pick as well.

Draft Express posted its draft video scouting report on McLemore a few days ago. If that kid ever does develop a killer instinct and a high motor, he could be great. I can see a real possibility that he slips to us. If he does, it will be hard to pass him by. He's a beautiful shooter, can pass the ball, and has good size for his position and is a great athlete (although I wouldn't say he's an elite athlete as I'm not sure he has super agility). But, one of his weaknesses is strength, and that's something that I expect will not be a long term problem for him. He seems to have a great frame, and in time, working with a pro strength coach, he's going to become a physical monster - and when that happens, and as he gains experience, we might find that his hesitancy as an athlete doesn't = a lack of heart for the game.

Assuming McLemore, Porter, Oladipo and Burke don't drop, my top choices are and have been Shabazz and CJ.

I'm kind of intrigues by Allen Crabbe at the moment. Not necessarily at 8 but I'm starting to wonder if hes a better prospect than KCP. He's long, can shoot the lights out, and a good athlete.

Also from earlier this year:

Vince Ellis of the Detroit Free Press:
In the first draft tidbit of the year, the Pistons like Cal shooting guard Allen Crabbe.

Could all be smoke but supposedly Cleveland is highly interested in Len while Phoenix likes Steven Adams.

If two of Adams-Len-Zeller along with Burke go before #8 we are likely looking at one of McLemore, Oladipo, Porter or Bennett dropping to us.

Jimmy Smith ‏@JimmySmith504 25m

Hearing that C Alex Len, who visited with #Pelicans on Friday, is now the likely choice for #Cavs at No. 1 spot in next week's draft.

What the ****???

I mean, there's no reason for a smokescreen but this fish doesn't smell right.

Just in case... Can someone give me a hypothetical draft with Len in Cleveland?

Outside of Irving, the cavs have made a lot of picks that no one predicted, so it may actually be true.

1. Cle - Len
2. ORL - Noel
3. WAS - Porter
4. Bobcats - Bennett
5. PHX - Oladipo
6. NO - Burke
7. SAC - MCW
8. Mclemore

In that scenario one of Oladipo or Mclemore falls imo.

Glad we got rid of the other thread, now I can change all my ideas :-)

I guess it doesn't matter if Len goes to Cleveland or the Pelicans, what matters is that he goes before #8 (actually #7, since Sacramento is not likely to pick him with Cousins on board).

I'm thinking Noel, Len, Porter, Bennett, and Oladipo are the first 5 picks. If Sacramento wants a PG, then Burke or MCW go there. McLemore would likely be the other pick, so we're still looking at McCollum, Zeller, KCP, and the remnant of MCW/Burke.

This would just be fantastic. It'll probably be the "dream scenario" for the Pistons in this draft.

I'd like the "ComboGuardCity" scenario as well, but are two PGs going to be taken before 8? I think Sacramento is good for one, not sure if the Pelicans bite on the other. I guess if they take McLemore, we know Gordon is damaged goods.

I dont see NOH going with a PG, in CGC's scenario theyd go with Mclemore before Burke or Carter-Williams. NOH Head Coach Monty Williams didn't sound particularly enthralled with Burke and his decision to workout alone. Id be shocked if NOH was high on Burke.

Yeah I think they either go big (Zeller) or PG. Gordon was playing back to backs by the end of last year. Then in Sacramento they can't really risk going for questionable motor guys so I don't see them taking Mclemore.
