fanboy offseason CP3 and Dwight

Post#1 » by coolness » Wed Jun 19, 2013 7:46 am

1. 8th for 17th and 18th picks (completely unnecessary trade in scenario, but adds depth)
Why? self-explanatory for both teams (alternate: draft ShaMu and sign T-Mac)

2. Knight, Stuckey, Jerebko, Kravstov, all 2nd's of next 7 drafts for 14th and 21st picks
Why? cap room for Pistons.
Utah should think Knight is worth those picks himself. Eye of the beholder on other those assets as they aren't a likely free agent destination. Stuckstov expire and Jerebko finished the year strongly. 2nd's > air.

3. Amnesty CV-DNP

4. draft: 14th G.Dieng, 17th KCP, 18th S.Karasev, 21nd T.Mitchell

5. sign Dwight and CP3 to max deals

6. use left-over $3 million to get best back-up pg available

7. sign scraps: Billups and Russell Walker Jr. (or 2 other point guards anyways...)

3 big-rotation: Dwight, Drummond, Moose
emergency center: Dieng
emergency stretch-4's: Singler and Mitchell

small forward: Karasev (or other rookie or T-Mac) and Singler
shooting guard: KCP (or other rookie or ShaMu) and Middleton
scrub wing: English

point guard: Chris Paul and Free Agent
scrub pg's: Billups and Walker Jr (r 2 other scrap part pg's)

Crazy stuff, but if CP3 and Dwight are serious about playing together, they should look at the team with the best young bigs in the league.

Also for the Pistons: if they ever trade CP3 and Dwight together, they would probably get a haul for them.

Imagine all the "Piston fan since 89" bandwagonners that would suddenly flood our subforum :(

no offense mate but these CP3/Dwight threads are a waste of time IMO

Dallas will likely attempt to get one or both of them, so will Houston and the Hawks might be in the market for Dwight depending on what happens with his buddy Josh Smith

That doesn't even take into consideration that the Clippers/Lakers might actually be able to retain their "superstars"...

We should at least call CP3 and his agent and listen to him say no, but there is no reason to beleive he (or Dwight)would come here

Yeah kinda sick of the Dwight and CP join forces in Detroit thread. Gets kinda annoying.

There are too many of these threads, and they all have similar variations of the same absurd notion.

How would that team be any better than last year's squad? Half the roster would be rookies.

Sign and trade CV, stuckey, drummond for dwight (Hell why not throw in #8 while they are at it)
sign cp3 outright

..or vice versa S&T for CP3 and sign Howard

LA gets drummond and expirings for 2014.
Monroe stays

cp3
Knight
singler
Monroe
dwight

Then they can pick up solid wings who want to play with that core and maybe take a bit less.

Drummond is not necessary in a sign and trade. All LA would get is #8.

You then send Drummond to the Spurs for Green and Leonard.

Paul
Green
Leonard
Monroe
Howard

Good lord.

But the homer in me would rather see the current organic growth with Moose/Dre.
