I can see the first happening. The second is hard to believe because Oladipo can't fall that far to us. Similarly to Trey Burke falling to #14 and #15. Anything can happen I guess. But in my opinion, the Cavs have made a smoke screen with Alex Len being the #1 pick. That'd be hilarious if they drafted him #1. There's no way Alex Len is that high on the board. We're not that lucky.

What's the point of a smokescreen when you have the first overall pick?

It's Cleveland, there is a reason why they got 3 #1 picks in 10 years and they are still this bad.

I have no idea. But the only thing I can think of is a trade. What a BAD #1 pick! It's incredible how bad their GM is.

What is this?

DX has us taking CJ McCollum -- not McLemore.

Well Len could be very good but at #1 it's a bit crazy. Especially given his foot injury. If Yao and Oden have taught us anything, it's that lower body injuries for 7 footers are serious business.

For us, somehow Ben McLemore or Oladipo falling would be the best case scenario probably. Hard to imagine it though

I have read that McLemore has been bad in workouts. Still need to trade up to get him.

They've had it twice in the last decade, and they drafted the best players in that year's draft with those picks.

When Cleveland drafted Lebron they rushed to make the playoffs as soon as possible. They drafted guys like Luke Jackson over much higher upside but bigger projects like Josh Smith/Al Jefferson and traded future 1sts for guys like Jiri Welsch.

Now in their rebuild they've taken the opposite approach and purposely tanked the last few years. Instead of using their cap space to acquire starters to help push them into playoff contention they've rented out cap space for future 1sts and in the process have built one of the most impressive caches of future picks of any team in the league.

The first mock seems very possible. The second one is purely terrible. I like the third one. I'm a huge McCallum Jr and Muscala guy. I also think as a Pistons fan if Burke fell to 13 which would be possible that I'd immediately call Dallas and say we'll take Marion and 13 for a future first. I'd love to see McLemore, Burke, McCallum Jr, and Muscala added to what we have.

G Trey Burke, Ray MaCallum Jr.
G Ben McLemore, Brandon Knight, Kim English
F Kyle Singler, Khris Middleton
F Greg Monroe, Mike Muscala, Jonas Jerebko
C Andre Drummond, Slava Krastov

The Maggette Zone (Waived expiring at the deadline)
F Charlie Villanueva
F Shawn Marion
G Rodney Stuckey

You could convince someone at 2 or 3 you were interested in their guy and they'd trade up to get him - and you come away with the guy you wanted all along.

LeBron, Irving and now. And they failed to build around those #1 picks. They wasted back to back #4 picks to put around Irving, they failed to surround LeBron with talent and they will likely fail again with this #1.

There is a reason why they got 3 #1 picks in 10 years and they are still this bad.

Noels makes the most sense at one. Let him recover and deal Varajeo at the deadline when you are outta it. Makes gi I'd sense.

Not sure why you're getting the idea that the last couple picks they made were awful. Tristan Thompson is already a pretty good player with big upside. 12/9 this year, with a massive oreb rate and good advanced stats, and he's 21. And Waiters was solid for a young shoot first rookie-- his percentages weren't great but they weren't bad for a rook, and he put up 18/3/4 per 36. His efficiency numbers were better than Harrison Barnes or Klay Thompson this year.

Overall the cavs are still bad because they're team was an utter wreck once LBJ left and they've actually been rebuilding for a couple of seasons. They're in better shape talent wise than we are now, and they haven't been a worse team than us the last couple of seasons.
