Lamarcus Aldrige wants a trade.
Would Monroe-Stucky be enough to get him?

Re: Lamarcus Aldrige
He doesn't. If you read the article he sort of says the opposite. Really awful journalism, LMA could sue for libel if he wanted to.
Also, Monroe is five years younger, as many posters have noted in other threads. Might be better go hang on to the much younger borderline all-star PF.

Five years ago Stuckey was a borderline All-Star. I rather take a sure thing then a maybe.

I wouldn't. He seems to want to go to a big market - which tells me he's more about himself and endorsement potential than worried about basketball/winning.

LMA is a better player than Monroe now, but invoking Stuckey is a weak move. Monroe at age 22 has averaged 16/10/3 the last two seasons, with a PER over 20. Stuckey never approached those numbers despite being 4 years older, and Stuckey has all sorts of issues Monroe doesn't. He's clearly on another level as a prospect/asset than Stuckey. And note that when LMA was Monroe's age, he averaged 18/7.5 and less than two dimes. LMA also makes $10m more than Monroe next year, so that trade would swallow up half our cap space.
I wouldn't hate it if we made this trade but there's definitely very good reasons for JD to hang up if Olshey called him. (But again, LMA most definitely did NOT ask for a trade. Read the article.)

Re: Lamarcus Aldrige
IMO:
Some guys want it all - the millions of guaranteed money, the big market, the climate, the winning situation and they want it yesterday
Dude is nearly 30 and has been in Portland for 7 years. I don't think anyone should trash him IF he wants to leave and go to a winning situation.
At some point the money, the climate, the market fade into the background: it don't mean a thing if you don't win the ring

Re: Lamarcus Aldrige
I don't understand why people want to trade for guys like LMA or Josh Smith when we have the best young frontcourt in the league (that will most likely be better than these guys). No for me.

Wait...Did we sign Brevin?
Tom Gores' Securus faced a class action lawsuit in 2024. The company engaged in a "quid pro quo kickback scheme" with county jails in Michigan which banned in-person visits in order to maximize revenue from voice and video calls.

Re: Lamarcus Aldrige
Don't get why so many people want to trade monroe, we finally got the perfect bigman combination for out future there is no reason to trade him unless its for a superstar wich even then i might not give him up.

Re: Lamarcus Aldrige
I'm gonna pass on LaMarcus. I love the guy but I'm not sure he would want to be here. I'm not sure what it would take to get him. I'd only be really willing to offer Monroe and parts outside of Calderon, Knight, Drummond, Singler and 8. I know we won't get him. I think any deal would have to start with Drummond since they need a center. It's just not a fit.

Well if they traded away the star PF who played like 39 minutes per the last three years, they'd probably need a PF...

True but Drummond > Monroe. I'd think they'd want him.

So LA wants to be traded to a winning team in a bigger market and we're going to surround him with rookies in detroit? that'll work out great

Re: Lamarcus Aldrige
Doesn't sound like Aldridge wants anything to do with our situation.
I wouldn't trade Monroe straight up for a guy who doesn't want to be here.
