Pistons starting PG?

Post#1 » by theBigLip » Fri Jun 28, 2013 3:38 am

I like KCP, could very well become a solid starter in this league. But does this mean Knight is our pg? or are we getting one via FA? Calderon?

I gotta think it's Knight. Or maybe Bledsoe, if the price is right on a trade (although I doubt that). Otherwise, get ready for a Knight / Pope back court.

Currently, its Knight

Hope we don't even call Calderon's agent.

Outside chance of going after Teague (ATL) as a FA or trading for Vasquez (NO just got Holiday).

I'd hope they resign Calderon. I think we need a legit passer this year. Still don't believe Knight is the guy at PG yet.

Not sure if Knight can do it as a PG, but I don't want him as our SG. If he comes through, we're starting to look pretty legit. Now for a SF... :-)

Would rather start Knight than Jose. Don't want to resign Jose, or Maxiell to be honest. I would HATE to start Jose/Knight. Just start developing our core already.

Day 1, starters should be

Knight/KCP/FA hopefully/Moose/Drummond

I do not believe our starting PG is on the roster right now. I think he will be acquired via trade.

Gotta be Knight. You have to give him another season to learn to play PG. There is no other acceptable option

This

It takes time for PG's to develop and Knight has show flashes. He was a ghost at SG and clearly is far superior when the ball is in his hands. KCP will fit well with Knight because he doesn't need the ball in his hands and can just focus on spotting up and coming off screens. Ill be very upset if Dumars gives up on Knight at PG this early.

Knight is the defacto pg until they sign or trade for an upgrade.

Knight won't cut it. I guess he'd be a great point guard if were chasing the Wiggins sweepstakes. Last pick!

Knight/KCP backcourt? Should be good for at least 5 assists per game...

There aren't many good options in FA at PG or SF. SG is loaded (Mayo, Iggy, Tyreke). Any of those guys paired with Burke would have been awesome. Not sure how Joe is going to make this work.

This, I don't want to resign Calderon either. Does anybody think Peyton Siva will be a part of the rotation?

It's Trey Burke. Oh wait we picked KCPoop instead, nvm. Maybe in 2014 with a new GM we'll finally get our PG.

Nah, we'll finish with the 9th pick, so it will go to Charlotte while that $15M saved making the trade goes into Gores bank account.

I doubt Pope starts. Stuckey will be opening day SG, and if stuck isnt on the team, it'll be a FA starting most likely.

Related to that, it honestly wouldnt surprise me to see Stuckey playing point on offense, and guarding 2's on defense, if we don't bring in a better PG than Knight.

Top 10 pick, $20 million+ in cap space and you have us starting Knight and Stuckey? Man, that's progress!

Stuckey needs to be traded. Pope needs to start. We need to sign a PG. Let's move forward.
