Now that the draft dust has settled we are left looking to FA to fill our holes. Joe D wants to improve on the perimeter- hes looking for "wing athletic shooters"- so this plan focuses on acquiring guys who are athletic and can get out in transition but can also step back and hit the 3 ball.

This is the type of team that I think Joe envisions, its athletic, its got shooters at the 1-3 spot to spread the floor for our bigs. Its also very versatile- Knight can play the 1-2, Webster plays the 2/3, Green and Mitchell play 3/4. Monroe can play the 4/5. We can play big or play small depending on matchups, we should be great in transition but also solid in the halfcourt. We can score and we can defend.

This is a young team that I think competes for a playoff spot next season.

I worry some about about Webster's ability to guard SGs...I see him more as a SF.

Should also amnesty CV to get a better backup C.

If Green is not made available by Boston, who would you target as a SF?

Just like Pete said, decent plan...Martell Webster is injury prone though...

that is not a good team/ only chance they grab an 8th seed would be because so many teams decide to tank

Martell played SG for MN and POR and I dont remember him struggling as a defender. I think he is a swingman and can play both the 2/3 just fine. I envision him starting until KCP is ready to take over and then coming off the bench after that.

I dont beleive we need to spend $$ on a backup center. Monroe and Drummond will eat all the available minutes at C. I think it would be a mistake to tie up more than the vets min for what essentially amounts to a 4th string center.

I want Joe D to target Green, Chandler, Granger, and would even be amendable to Gay.

What I'm worried about though, is what if either Monroe or Drummond get injured? We need to still have decent depth behind them just in case.

In your plan and depth chart, if Monroe gets injured, then we're forced to play Dre just about 48 minutes per and start Mithcell or CV.

We give Slava minutes, he looked adequate when Drummond went down last season. And in the event of injury we start Knight/KCP/Webster/Green/Monroe or Drummond.

What if our offseason consisted of signing Maynor, Iggy, Webster, and Kaman instead?

We tie up too much money in Igoudala and Kaman (who isn't gonna sign with any team to see less than 10mpg). Monroe is due to get the max soon so we have to be careful with FA money we dont want to be a 7/8th seed paying the lux tax.

As far as Iggy/Green/Chandler/Granger go, Green is probably my favorite of the 4. Would love to bring him here. Not a huge Webster fan though. Would rather let KCP start.

I agree with most others here about Webster. I like him more as a backup.

I'd be happy with Maynor off the bench.

I'm not sold on Green, but I wouldn't hate a Stuckey / (Middleton, Singler, Jerebko, or preferably CV) for Green / Lee.

We trade expirings for longterm contracts that fill voids in our roster.

I think I'd rather pay Iggy for a couple years and take advantage of his defense and ball-handling while Knight continues to develop.

I don't think either option is a surefire playoff berth.

Love the idea of Jeff Green. Would like to at least make an offer for Bledsoe by dangling Stuckey and a 2016 1st. Afflalo is not that much better.

When did Jeff Green join Denver or has Jeff Green replaced the board's obsession with unrealistic Wilson Chandler trades?

Boston hasn't started dumping salary. They just took on the remaining 3 years and $30M of Gerald Wallace's deal. If they are going to start dumping salary, that is where they will start.

I really Like the idea of Jeff Green, and I'm intrigued by Chandler and Granger, I'm lukewarm on Granger due to injuries but any one of those guys would be great.

I think would cost more than poop and Singler to land Green but we should try to get him.

I don't like the PG situation of this plan at all. Everything else is good but handing over Knight the starting spot again is the dumbest possible thing. He does not deserve to start, we need a PG. Maynor is an awful PG, there are so many better options out there.

I would go after Collison which would make Knight fight for the starting spot, if he outplays Collison awesome give him the starting spot, if not glue his ass to the bench until he actually deserves playing time. If Collison is too expensive go after Farmar who is young and decent enough to start and would be cheap.

Really good plan overall except the PG part and we would probably need to offer something else to land Jeff Green.

Boston getting rid of their dinosaurs does not indicate that they're willing to give up any asset for any price. Rebuilding teams don't get rid of their 26 year old second best player, especially not when he's signed for a couple of years with a reasonable contact. I'm not really a big Green fan but it makes zero sense for Boston to part with him.

Also, is that team good, like at all good? Offensively, Monroe is the only one in that lineup who's above average at shot creation/usage, and it seems like he flourishes with a modest amount of touches (not 20 shots a game). BK might be better this year but if he's not he's among the worst starters in the league at using possessions. Webster isn't a creator and Drummond will probably just be a dunks and put backs guy next year. (Also there are some serious fluke year concerns about Webster-- all his percentages massively jumped last year, not sure it's safe to assume he shoots like that in the future. And if he doesn't and reverts back to the 42%/34% from three he was at year before last, he has no business being a starter on any team).

Defensively, none of those guys are above average except Drummond. I like the youth of your team, POP, but I'm not seeing a whole lot of above average talent.

Also does that team meet the minimum salary requirements? Need to have a payroll of at least $52m I think.

I prefer Collison as well. I like him a lot, but when I first pitched the idea of him- it wasn't too well recieved. If we are keeping Brandon Knight then our 3 guard rotation should have a PG, SG(KCP), Combo(Knight). I like Maynor more than you but I would be very happy if we went out and acquired Jeff Teague or Darren Collison to play around 30 minutes off the bench.
