Why would they offer Tyreke Evans 4/48?!?!? If u give Evans that much what are players like Iguodala and Smith gonna expect?
4/48 for both Smith and Iguodala should be the max offers and now this is gonna screw our chances of getting either

Absolute bottom for a player like Josh Smith would be $15 million per year IMO... More likely he will squeeze $16 or $17 million out of someone.
Iggy is slightly older but will still get in the $13-$15 Million per year range.
I was thinking Evans would get $40 million over 4 years. I mean he's better and with more upside than Stuck who got more than $8 million per from us.

I think that's fair for Evans. I don't know what you expect to pay Iggy or Smith. They deserve like 3 million more a year in my opinion.

Theyr'e taking a gamble here. Imo Tyreke is a borderline all-star who just needs a change of scenery. He has alot to prove and there is still upside about him. So if he pans out, then the Pelicans would be geniuses and if he doesn't then he'd end up in the Eric Gordon category. The top tier free agents this summer are definitely capable of getting offers at those numbers. Thats why free agency is always risky. Piston fans know too much about this.

My guess is 14 mil/yr is the lowest Iggy/Smith were going to accept anyways. So Evans getting offer 12 mil doesnt really change much. He's probably only worth 9-10 mil, but then when you add in an extra mil or two of value because he's young, and another extra mil that you have to do because he's a RFA and you have to outbid the Kings from what he's really worth, 12 mil is about right. I don't think it affects AI or Smith. To be honest I'd rather have Evans at 12 mil than Smith or Iguoddala at 14-15 mil

Evans is a RFA, meaning you need to pay enough that Sacto doesn't match.

I thought New Orleans was getting a steal when reports said he was only getting 4/40 i fully expected 12 mill a year.
In 2 years he's on the upswing, while Iggy and Josh will be on the downswing...3/4 mill difference is about right.
I'll be really surprised if Sac matches anything. They were trying to move up to get ben, Now they have Ben and I have reservations they'll start him slow.

I am lost. NOPE don't even have cap space, all they got left is MLEish money so how the fck did they offer Tyreke Evans a 4/48 contract?
As soon as the draft trade goes through this is their payroll
Eric Gordon $14,283,844
Jrue Holiday $ 9,213,484
Ryan Anderson $ 8,308,500
Anthony Davis $ 5,375,760
Robin Lopez $ 5,119,761
Jason Smith $ 2,500,000
Austin Rivers $ 2,339,040
Greivis Vasquez $ 2,150,188
Lance Thomas $ 884,293
Darius Miller $ 788,872
Brian Roberts $ 788,872
Terrel Harris $ 884,293
$52,636,907
Salary cap is 58,5, So they have less than 6 million in cap space.

Lopez and Smith both aren't fully guaranteed if waived by July 5th ... Lopez is only $500k guaranteed and Smith only $1 mil so that's $5+ million extra right there.

To clear salary for Tyreke Evans or sign-and-trade w/ Kings, Pelicans expected to try and unload Robin Lopez, league source tells Y!

Yeap just saw it lol. They need to dump Lopez for nothing which makes the offer even more insane since he was pretty good for them and is in a very good contract.

It's a different situation. Evans is a restricted FA, they have to overpay just to get him, otherwise the Kings will just match a smaller deal.
Smith and Igoudala are UFA, they can sign anywhere without concern for the Nuggets. But, in Detroit's case, they still have to overpay to get them here. Even then, it's nowhere near a lock. A lot of teams with a lot of cap space this summer.
There's a lot of buyers to compete with it. It's certainly a sellers market right now.

This is when Joe should be on the phone. Once some idiot GM overpays its time to fleece him for his role players.

We could probably use our capspace to get Lopez for a 2nd rounder... He would be a serviceable backup to Drummond.

I'd gladly take Lopez off their hands.
