Pistons eye Rondo and Gay

Danny Ainge has said publicly that the Celtics aren't rebuilding, and that he's not trading Rajon Rondo. Be that as it may, the Pistons have let it be known how to reach them if Ainge changes his mind.
In the aftermath of the Celtics' decision to ship Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce to Brooklyn last week, the calls have been coming in -- chiefly, regarding Rondo. The logical assumption was that if the Celtics didn't want to pay Doc Rivers $7 million to coach a rebuilding team and if Garnett and Pierce didn't fit into those plans, either, then Rondo would be the next to go.
Based on that possibility, the Pistons were among the first teams to reach out to the Celtics and express interest in acquiring Rondo, the All-Star point guard who is coming off an ACL injury, league sources told CBSSports.com. Having already made lucrative pitches to free agents Josh Smith and Andre Iguodala, Pistons president Joe Dumars also has registered interest in Raptors forward Rudy Gay, one source said.

If we trade either Monroe or Drummond, or both, this won't end well..

Rondo might cost us Monroe.

I think we can get Rudy Gay without trading one of the BIGs. We really should explore all trade options with Toronto.

Pistons are linked to everybody. Seems like they're setting up to get nothing but will say "look, we really, really tried..."

Yes to Gay. No to Rondo.

Well, Rudy at least has a jumper opposed to Smith, right? :) *scratches head*

Sounds like Dumars is really desperate trying to save his job.

What will Toronto want for Rudy?

young assets and TPE?

That's basically all we have to offer unless they would take expirings? In that case, Stuckey/CV might work with us taking on some long-term salary commitments they want to offload onto us. (Fields?)

Granger is available but I doubt Dumars tries to take him, He can shoot, Dumars is trying to take expensive players who can't shoot

I don't mind Gay. Its Rondo I have a problem with since it'll cost us a leg.

LOL
All jokes aside, if Granger is on the trade block, we should at least take a look at it...

Give me gay all day everyday lol. He would be alot better fit than Smith, no fricking way for Rondo when we already have Knight and would cost ALOT

Yes to both as long as we don't give up Drummond.

I could live with Monroe being traded even though it would be painful to see him go.

Knight stinks.

I'm sick of all these rumors. Give me some action.
