With Sacramento pulling offer time to land Iggy.

Sacramento pulled its 4 year $56 million offer for Iggy. Its time to put in that same offer and overpay slightly to land a player who will help push us into the playoffs and perhaps help us land another FA.
And we could still always amnesty CV and have $15 million more to spend on other guys to fill out the roster.
Give him a flat $14 million per and maybe try to get the final year only 50% guaranteed just as an insurance policy for us and lets get things moving.
He is still a better option than a $19 million dollar Gay IMO... Who we could still trade for and play them both at the 2/3 if we really wanted to.

If we get Gay, can we afford Iguodala?
Knight
Iguodala
Gay
Monroe
Drummond
That's a Top 3 defense.
EDIT: We should be able to get both.

If we can get Gay for only 2 yr commitment, why commit 4 yrs to Iguodala and then have it take up all our capspace and have little to nothing left to fill other needs?
The beauty of the Gay deal is it allows to retain all of our capspace to spend this year for other players still. Plus its always better to have a 2 yr committment vs 4 yrs. Not to mention Gay is much younger. Iguodala is too old to be giving that kind of money on a 4 yr deal unless there are no better options. Now that there is a better option, no thanks.

On a side note, how early did Iguodala get in the twitter game that he was able to land the moniker "andre"

Would be even better defensively and Afflalo is a better shooter than Gay.

What are Iggy's other options? I think that price was way too high. I'd love to be able to grab him at 4/48 or something like that.

Well the Nuggets offered him 5/63. No way he takes a paycut with one less year. We're going to have to offer what the Kings are offering.

I can see Gores thinking right now of a catchphrase for Rudy and Iggy:
Gettin' Giggy with it.

Denver offered $62 million over 5 years reportedly which is about $12.5 million per season.
Some people on the general board are saying that Sacramento really offered $52 million over 4 years which is $13 million per season... and Iggy's agent went to other teams saying it was $56 million trying to squeeze a bigger amount from another team.
When Sacramento heard this they decided to pull the offer because it became clear Iggy wasn't wanting to sign there but was more about trying to get more elsewhere.

Noticed that as well LOL
I think this doesn't hurt our chances of landing him, since it's one rival off the table to get him.

I always wondered the same thing, that is an OG handle.
Gay for 2 years > Iggy for 4 imo.

although i probably agree, it is for atleast 4mil less. rudy is 17.9 next season, we can get iggy for 14, maybe less. it definitely balances it a little bit if you just look at it like that. the advantage comes in the way that it gets rid of both stuckey and DNP-CV. Also if the next 2 years go as we hope it will, and by next year we are in the top 4 in the east, it will make it a lot easier to re-sign rudy anyway.
this offseason is so fun, i hope we dont end up with nothing.

A shooter like Afflalo would be nice but note that, the year after he got his big deal and started to take a larger offensive role, Afflalo fell off a cliff defensively. Went from having some of the best defensive advanced stats to having pretty awful ones. Quote from Hollinger:
'Defensively he regressed (last season). Badly. Afflalo had a rep as a defensive stopper that helped him get a big contract the previous summer, but all his metrics last season were poor. Synergy rated him the single worst wing defender in basketball, and while his other metrics weren't that bad, none of them painted him as a net positive at the defensive end.'
This is from last season, but we still shouldn't be expecting the super defender AA that people cooed over a few seasons ago.

If someone (usually a celeb)wants a twitter handle someone else already has, if the acct is inactive more than six months..you can request to take it.

Joe should be pushing for Iggy even if we get Gay as Iggy can shift to SG. Both significant upgrades at the wing positions and should definitely push us into the playoffs next season.
