Dave Bing as Mayor

Post#1 » by ShakaSmart » Wed Jul 3, 2013 6:28 pm

Hi -

I am Bullets (uh. Wizards) fan from wayback in the day. Use to watch Dave Bing when he played with both the Pistons and Bullets. I didn't find out he was mayor of detroit until last month.

How is he doing as Mayor?

No man can fix Detroit when there's constant fighting with the city council.

City Council would rather ruin the city than receive help from the Burbs. It's a lost cause. Dennis Archer knew that. You're a fool if you want to deal with that bunch of clowns. The only different between Bozo and City Council is that his red nose is fake.

Detroit isn't going to be able to get any better until they start rebuilding their tax base, Detroit isn't going to be able to start rebuilding their tax base until their services get better. catch 22.

Cue 'Mission Impossible'... good man... wrong situation... the trouble started with Coleman Young... he didn't promote the city or want to deal with wealthy businessmen outside of the city.
There is new money being invested with the principles being Dan Gilbert's group... Gores is getting involved... Mr. I has always been there... there are some great tax incentives and new developments around the parks and the river (say goodbye to the old Cass Corridor)... believe it or not the city is on the rebound finally.

The city really is doing better since he took over, but there's only so much the guy can do. I was disappointed to hear that he won't be going for another term.

Anyone here about the head dude in the city council? Apparently he's been screwing around with some under aged boy while not showing up to meetings. This is the kind of crap we have to deal with.

But honestly, the Riverfront is a really nice place to be, and the city is somehow getting better.

The mayors office has been dismantled and its more a figure head. The city is run by the State govt in Lansing. Many hoped that the federal govt would take it over and make it into 2nd DC. The only thing that can invest in Detroit to bring it back quickly is the Federal reserve and there printing presses.
