Celtics just hired Stevens. Assuming he would have come to the Pistons, would you have preferred him over Cheeks?

I am not a fan of college coaches going straight into the pros, especially that young. I wanted HOLLINS!

Word is Stevens got a six year deal. Detroit wouldn't offer that.
Mo Cheeks is pretty much the worst coach hired this off-season. I say pretty much because I don't know much about the fella Charlotte hired.

No interest in a college coach who hasnt even gone deep in the tourney.

Yup, Hollins would've been perfect. Joe jumped the gun on signing Cheeks.

Correct me if I'm wrong but weren't they in the championship game a few years ago?

Well, yeah but I would say making it to the championship game is pretty deep.

You said he didn't go deep into the tourney. So it's only deep if you win it all?

Yes because people clearly expect Butler of all schools to be consistently winning championships. They went to the title game 2 years in a row and at this point, it sounds like you are trying to cover for not knowing the situation in the first place.

I think Butler actually went to the championship game back to back years. That's impressive, but I'm not fond going the college route either.

I thought Butler went to back to back Final 4's not championships- sue me! But the point still stands.

I don't see how the point still stands since even if Butler went to 2 final fours in a row instead of championships, that's still considered a deep run AND he did it with much less talent than any other team (year 1 he had Hayward, year 2 he had no one) but if you say so...
I'd want Stevens because he's shown that he can make the most of his talent, but I see why people can be cautious of a college coach making the transition.
