Bring back Maxiell Bring back the same team

Post#1 » by Shooter1 » Thu Jul 4, 2013 3:10 pm

Next years draft comes along once every 10 years. If Andrew Wiggins is a Piston we will win multiple championships.

Sign Maxiell for 1 year
Sign Bynum for 1 year
Start Charlie V

For good sakes do not make the playoff 8 seed and get bounced. Do not finish with the 8-9 pick (which will still be good,

Screw that im tired of being losers its time for the nba to have a good pistons team again. Tanking never gets anyone anywhere and it doesnt guarantee anything, putting a winning team out there can attract free agents in the future.

Who is Allen Wiggins?

If we can't land Iggy or Smith or trade for a quality SF like Granger, Green or Chandler then we shouldn't bring back the same team but we should stand pat

Knight/Stuckey/Siva
KCP/English
Singler/Middleton
Monroe/Jerebko/CV/Mitchell
Drummond/Slava

Lets see what we have in Knight/KCP/Drummond, collect lotto balls and then go into 2014 with a top 8 draft pick + FA money. Id rather acquire quality guys to start our playoff push- but thats starting to look unlikely. Id rather lose next season standing pat then lose next season with mediocre FA's and a high payroll and surrender our pick to Charlotte.

Remember all the "tank for Shabazz" buzz last summer?

Yeah, that's a guy we and 13 other teams passed on. You can't mortgage entire seasons on the hopes of a 18 year old kid, when you have players that are in a position to make a leap now.

I'd love to have a top 5 pick in next years draft. But, this team has never been about tanking, and I'm certain it won't again this year.

To clarify, I don't want to tank for a pick. Its the pick + a stronger FA class. Id rather stand pat then overpay for mediocrity.

Exactly, any of these top guys could bust, or get injured, and besides, its hard to phathom us being much worse than we've been the last 3 years, and we still didn't end up with a top 5 pick!!! Tanking doesn't seem to ever work out very well, except for the Cavaliers, but thats more a matter of being losers and not trying to tank. Remember when Boston tried to tank for Oden and ended up with the #5 pick? Ok, maybe thats a bad example cuz that was one of the assets they packaged to trade for Ray Allen and KG, but still I don't think Dumars has any old buddies like McHale who is going to let Joe rip him off in a trade like Ainge did.

Max and Bynum bring no game to the table, but I don't think we can just stand pat we have to reach the salary floor.

my two bees in a bucket plan is...

BK/Billups/Siva
Delfino/KCP/Stuckey
Singler/Middleton/JJ
Moose/CV/Mitch
Dre/Dally/Wallace

overpay Delfino and Dally on one year deals to get us to the minimum. Dally and Wallace to mentor Dre, and Delfino helps space the floor and improves our perimeter D while allowing us to bring KCP along at his own pace. Chauncey and Big Ben can help teach the kids about Detroit Basketball. we can start to change the culture of the team and still have cap flexibility.

if your planning on tanking, you better bring Colonel Maggette back too. I actually cant believe Maggette isn't a more sought after free agent with so many teams looking to tank this year.

To bad even that idea wouldn't tank bad enough to get the 1st pick. Boston,ATL, and Philly are going to suck something fierce next year.

not exactly

IF we do not reach that 90% floor then we would have to pay the difference to the players on our team. They would divide up that difference equally and get bonus money.

How about we don't do that and field the most competitive team we can?

All this talk about whether teams wanna tank or not.

Now we, too, are at the crossroads.

Tanking might be best for the organization....but how much will it piss off Monroe, Knight, Drummond, and the rest of the youngsters to be losers again. Too many years losing in a row can't be good for the core's mentality.

If gms and fans around the league could do a replay and have tanked for mj or lebron or kd don't you think they would have probably done it. I'm for setting up for next years classes in the draft and free agency. The talent moves me to say that. Is iggy worth losing a chance at wiggins or Parker or a better free agent? Not really. Iggy is fools gold cause he won't bring us to a elite level but will eat our cap and our draft hopes.
Pistons vs. Warriors in the Finals in 2017 - With KCP hitting a game winner so the Pistons dont get swept.

not the same. this past draft was always known to be weak, which came to be true. this upcoming draft is too hyped to not produce superstar/all star talent

Regardless of our opinions. Do you honestly believe that Gores or Dumars would sign off on tanking this next season?
