Trading Stuckey

With Smith on board, we cannot afford to have any perimeter players who cannot shoot. So Im wondering what players can we get with Stuckey's expiring contract? These are the guys I can think of off the top of my head- is there anyone else out there?
BOS- Courtney Lee (Lee is a bad contract but he can shoot the ball and play solid D, Bos would have to add a 2nd)
NOH- Gordon (NOH has Holiday/Evans/Rivers and may look to move EG for EC's)
ORL- Afflalo (ORL just drafted Oladipo so they may be looking to trade AA for an EC)
POR- Matthews (POR just drafted McCollum so they may look to move Matthews for an EC and Stuck is from the PAC-NW so its a bit of a homecoming for him)
SAC- Thornton (SAC has just drafted Mclemore and may want to move Thornton for an EC)
WAS- Ariza (Trevor is an EC as well, but Was just drafted a SF in Porter and re-signed Webster)

Affalo, Thornton, or Matthews would be awesome.

I can see Gallo being available if Denver finally decides to blow it up. He's going to be coming off a serious injury though and is a bit expensive.

He's a significantly better version of Kyle Singler.
I'd rather have someone who is capable of playing some defense.

You know which team could use a better version of Kyle Singler? Probably the team playing Kyle Singler.

Defense will give a team a better chance of winning versus offense.

Gallo wasn't all team defense, but he was an alright defender. His offense was remarkable. His injury was the biggest reason Denver went down in the first round.

I doubt Gallo is on the market. Denver is clearly not going to rebuild- they already have a solid young core.

I think we could get Afflalo for Stuckey. However, we need our 3rd guard to be able to handle the ball.

Afflalo would be our starting 2 guard and would slide down to backup the 3 spot. We'd need to acquire an actual starting PG and put KNight as the 3rd guard. KCP would be 4th.
I want this;
Teague(32)/Knight(16)
Afflalo(16)/Knight(16)/KCP(16)
Smith(17)/Afflalo(16)/Singler(15)
Monroe(18)/Smith(18)/CV(14)
Drummond(32)/Monroe(16)

Afflalo does have the type of Pistons DNA that would fit our team nicely. I'm not sure he's a long term solution for us, but he'd sure help the team win games right now. I could actually see a move like this. Orlando really needs an experienced PG to pair with Oladipo - who sure seems like he'll be a disaster at PG if the Magic go that way.

I wouldn't mind Stuck for Courtney Lee, with a protected first, similar to the deal we did with Charlotte. Though I don't think Stuckey is as obsolete as everyone is making him sound. He can still get to the hoop and create opportunities for JS and AD at the rim.

I think Gallo is poor man's Larry Bird. If you don't want that on your team then you might want to follow the Bobcats instead.

Montana, if you watch Piston games the one thing that stares you right in the face is that Stuckey is great at penetrating but not at dishing or finishing after contact.

If there's any way to get Gallo, we should be all over it. I'd give up a lot for him if he was healthy.

Agreed, they're looking to sign Monta Ellis. They're looking to upgrade the roster and have given zero indication of any intent to rebuild. They have a young and athletic team across the board. Rebuilding would be ridiculous.

True, I have noticed that, but if they're there to finish his garbage it could result in some easy putbacks for Drummond and Smith. Maybe its not the best plan to send a loose cannon to the rim to miss shots so the bigs can pad their rebounding stats, but having a slasher get to the rim creats chaos for the defense, and their defenders would be out of position for rebounds.

I think it would have been a smarter decision to take the extra $4.5M to use in free agency than not use the buyout option and then try to trade Stuckey. $7M remaining vs $11.5M remaining...

Larry Bird was capable of landing on the NBA's All-Defensive teams on multiple occasions.
Gallo is very far from being a poor man's Bird.
He'd have to become something similar to Dirk Nowitzki for me to consider.

That's why he is a poor man's Bird, he has an excellent offensive game and plays alot like Bird, but he doesn't have the 2-way game.
