Pistons Press Conference Side Note for the Season...

Joe Dumars, when he wasn't thinking about the rib eye he just hate at Ponderosa, mentioned in his press conference that he planned on making another trade or two. He also said this current roster won't be the group going forward. I came up with a list of untouchables. Who of the rest do you think will be moved and for what. If you want to assume or come up with a trade with Orlando simply state in your response your wearing a nun's habit. I'll just go back and look at one of Piston Pete's previous deals for Tobias Harris. Thanks.

Untouchables:
C Andre Drummond (No need for reasoning)
F Josh Smith (Just signed)
F Gigi Demote (Just signed)
G Will Bynum (Just Signed)

Moveable:
The rest of the cr@p Joe D has amassed.

I'm going to assume you weren't referring to Monroe as crap. Additionally, I'm not a huge Knight fan, but he's a solid 6th man at worst. As for Stuckey, I'd be happy with any deal that involves him being shipped out. I don't care if we get a small multi-year contract in return or its simply a salary dump with nothing coming back, just want the guy off the roster - he just doesn't fit.

Stuckey and CV for Afflalo and Al Harrington? messes with our cap for next year but we get a quality starting sg out of the deal.. maybe throw them Jerebko or Singler.. we dont need both

then sign Chauncey to a 2 year deal

I'd be shocked if he traded KCP. Monroe isn't quite untouchable but it will take a really good player to entice Joe to trade him imo. Definitely not for an overpaid guy like Rudy Gay, and not for Rondo who is just coming off an ACL injury and would make our spacing even worse.

I'd honestly just try to use our expirings and see whose interested.

We still have a little over 4 m in capspace to sign someone else also.

I'm really glad you posted this. I thought of Greg possibly being traded as well.

When I watched Greg Monroe talk at halftime to the commentators the other day, he mostly talked about himself getting better and didnt sound like anything about the future. I didnt get any sense of feeling from him that his future was going to be wtih the Pistons. It actually surprised me to be honest. I would like to see greg, drummond, smith front court, but Joe D is all about winning. And if he can do that overnight, he would.

I watched that entire press conference and don't remember Dumars saying he intended to make another trade or two. Did you make that up out of thin air or did I have an A.D.D. moment?

Joe D drafts darko.
Joe D trades darko to orlando for stuckey.
Joe D loses Aflflalo who gets traded to Orlando.
Joe D trades stuckey + monroe to orlando for afflalo + harris.
Orlando ends up with the player they should've drafted and Detroit ends up with the player they should have kept.
Its the circle of life coming together. You see that

I hope we try and go after Gordon with expirings/picks/KCP.

So they are assuming Joe is going to make a trade or Joe said we are going to make a trade?

Nobody can accuse Dumars of not taking advantage of his post BG cap-room. I'll trade the corpse that is BG plus next year's #1 (top 8 protected) any day for the haul we've enjoyed so far: Smith, Demote, KCP, MItchell, Siva, Bynum - plus a trade or trades to come, and maybe another FA or two.

Impressive offseason, IMO. And I'll be Gores is privately very happy. It has to be great to see a plan coming to fruition.

I'm praying to G-d we can turn some variation of Stuckey and Villanueva into Eric Gordon from the New Orleans *Pelicans*.
http://basketball.realgm.com/tradecheck ... de/6313228

Knight/Bynum/Siva
Gordon/KCP/Middleton
Smith/Singler/KCP
Monroe/Smith/Mitchell
Drummond/Monroe/Kravtsov

I'd name Joe the Godfather of my firstborn son if he pulled that off.

(p.s. the first and ONLY trade we should be exploring are those that flip our expirings for talent)

If Minny has another down year, I can see Love quietly requesting a trade at the deadline. I would be amenable to a trade revolving around Monroe. Perhaps, Monroe, Stuckey, CV, and a 2016 First for Love and Barea. Minny gets a great young big and expiring contracts, and we get an all-star caliber four with range - something we need from that position. Again, this is only plausible if Minny finds itself with a demand from Love and, thus, a loss of leverage.

If we could land Gordon that'd be awesome. But I'd rather have a AS PG.

I wouldnt be surprised if Joe traded Monroe for a player that is not of equal value. He may even throw in a draft pick too

If this trade went through it would prove how smart joe d is. Even when there is a new CBA he still finds a way to build a roster. He has been ahead of the curve or pack this off season. He set himself up pretty nicely. Honestly if this trade went down I'd cry.

Knight
Gordon/Kcp
Smith
Monroe
Drummond
