So expiring contracts will most likely be good for teams who are tanking or realizing they aren't going to be as good as expected... and potentially teams who will want big FA money come this summer.

Here are some possible players on contracts teams might want to dump for expirings or expirings and picks/young talent...

I'd like Rondo,Gordon,Gay,DeRozen, and Batum out of that list.

Gordan and Mathews and that's it. Unfortunately, it seems like both are not available at the moment.

There are some solid players on that list for sure but many teams will be going into the season with hope and if a team feels its clearly a lottery team and or one of these guys is underperforming we might be able to get a solid player without giving up a ton of assets.

Batum seems like one of the more unlikely candidates but you never know $11+ million for a 14 PPG scorer shooting 42% from the field and having a slightly above average PER of 15.76 might be someone a team decides to let go if its clear they aren't going to be a playoff team.. But not sure his ability to play the SG spot which he would have to do here or else we couldn't trade for a player like that to back up Josh Smith.

I'd love to take a look at Evan Turner. He shot 36.5% from three last season which is consistent with the 36% he put up in college. He could be an outstanding complement to Brandon Knight in the backcourt with his ballhandling and playmaking ability (2:1 A:TO)

After this upcoming season Philly would have to offer him a QO of 8.7 million and he probably won't have proven himself enough to warrant that kind of commitment from them yet.

Sometimes teams in the luxury tax area will also look to cut salary and are willing to give up picks to teams under the cap but right now it looks like only Miami, Brooklyn, New York, Chicago, and the Lakers are in the tax zone and all 5 of those teams are likely willing to spend the $.
