In terms of where this team is, where it wants to go, and a player who isn't 100% certain to want to stay with their team, Johnny Wall is a fit, imho.

But, is their any conceivable way Detroit could pry him from Washington without giving up Andre Drummond?

Just throwing this out there. I'd take him over Rondo is a heart beat, and I wouldn't hesitate to tender him a max contract. Does anyone believe that a package built around Monroe and Knight could land him?

I don't think there's a way. But, I'm curious if anyone here can convince me otherwise.

If Washington wasn't sold on the idea of giving him a Max contract next year than Monroe + Knight would be a pretty nice package for him.

Washington would probably have to start out pretty bad and be one of the worst teams in the NBA come Dec/Jan and Wall would probably have to be publicly unhappy in his situation there for them to look to move him.

i can't see Washington trading wall even if the values right. He's the face of the franchise and had a good return back after the injury.
I'd love to get him, i think he's going to have a big year.

The answer is "no" - there's no way to get him without trading Drummond.

Also, I'd be careful what you wish for. Wall has had a bad track record with injuries, and I'm not sure he's that great a player to begin with.

I didn't think so, without an awful lot of dominoes falling in Detroit's favor, which is certainly improbable to say the least.

His injury history would be a concern. Then again, there's a large segment of people lobbying for Rondo who blew out his knee. So, there's that.

I would kill to have John Wall, he's fast and his up tempo style of play on this pistons squad I think would be a great fit... I wouldn't be surprised to see John Walls name up on the wiretap as another PG the pistons offered B Knight and a couple expirings to get, the way Joe Ds been acting as of late.. Don't think Knight and Moose would be enough but it's a good start and if by some miracle we could have a core consisting of Wall KCP Smith and Drummond, I'm all in

That's a good point. Plus, Wall has a higher ceiling in my opinion. However, I don't think he's a good leader at all. When I see him, I see Brandon Jennings. No not the skill set. But the attitude. However, He'd be a big upgrade at the 1 if we trade Monroe and Knight for him. The next question is does he really deserve the max? I don't think he does and Washington are desperate enough to give him it.

I don't watch enough of the Wizards to speak on Wall's leadership. But, I don't know if anyone is faster with the ball in his hands than him. It's like the dribbling isn't an issue while he's in a flat out spring.

I certainly don't see somebody like Jennings though. He hasn't had any spats with coaches, management or teammates that I can recall of hearing. He just has a shaky jumper, and wasn't a great defender, like all young point guards.

I was just throwing a name out there, really. I looked through the NBA and tried to find a somewhat reasonable PG target. Most of them aren't going to be available. The next best target (outside of Rondo) was Goran Dragic. While he's a nice player, he isn't really an elite PG and has a lot of flaws in his game.

No, I don't think there's a way to get him...Unless you're seriously open to trading a couple of our young pieces which at the same time would make us take a competitive step back...He would be a nice addition to our young core though...

No, and honestly I don't think Washington would trade Wall for Drummond. Their management loves the guy, they've been worried about losing him since he got there.

That said, I don't think I would trade Monroe and Knight for Wall unless I was getting some other decent piece. Wall has had much bigger highs and much bigger lows than Monroe since they both came into the league, and depending on a roster and positional preference you could probably make an argument either way. But the difference is definitely less than Knight, whom I still believe has real value.

Joe would have to do sexual favors for numerous people in order for us to get Wall, which I am all in favor of him doing. I had him on my fantasy team and he was an absolute beast. I would even gladly trade Monroe for him, but I think he would be better off staying on the wizards. They are pretty decent with Wall/Beal/Porter/Nene/ and Okafor.

You didn't say anything about it being a pipe dream. You even offered a package of Monroe and Knight. I'm tired of ridiculous homer trade offers just as much as I am tired of the rondo for Drummond talk.

I doubt Washington trades John Wall for anything less than LeBron James or Kevin Durant. Wall has the chance to be really special. He has SG size and strength at the PG position, amazing handles and speed, is a good finisher and his jumper has showed improvement from his rookie year.
