Detroit Fans, Lets Welcome Jennings to Detroit

Post#1 » by Han Solo » Tue Jul 30, 2013 9:42 pm

My point here is this:

How many of you acted like knuckleheads when you were Jennings' age? Give this kid a warm welcome, He's a Piston now and our PG going forward.

I like this move and Jennings potential here with his surrounding cast.

Pistons are looking legit.

He better be an all star next year because we just gave up a package for one

I don't know. I love Knight. He's got **** to work with in Milwaukee. I hope he finds his way to a team that can actually help him develop. Milwaukee doesn't have alotta talent.

For us, I don't know. If he can fix his shot selection - fine. If he continues to chuck to the max - then we just pulled another Stuckey.

I root for all pistons to succeed and hope they do, but I can't help but feel that we made a mistake here. We would have been better off trying to let Cheeks/Chauncey mentor Knight this year.

I am not a fan of Brandon Jennings and have trashed him the past 2 years.

But, I am a fan of his talent. He has All-Star level talent, but poor decision making and some of the worst Shot selection I have ever seen.

3 years/24 mil is a fantastic deal.

But, if Coach Cheeks can reign Jennings in while both Jennings and Smith buy into a good system, this team could be sick legitimate contenders someday!!!

I hate to see Knight go, but this is getting interesting. I am excited.

GOOO PISTONS!!!

We moved Kravstov in the deal, giving the Bucks their 815th big man on the roster.

I was never a huge Middleton fan, so I'm not heart broken over losing him. Knight, well, I still thought the kid could improve. I guess that's no longer a concern.

Apparently Jennings first year will be under 8 million, which is very reasonable. He isn't getting a deal that will significantly hurt the cap, and Detroit can still go after another big contract this summer.

Will Jennings work out? I don't know. He's going to have to prove it to me, and a lot of people. We all know the talent is there, but like Knight, he didn't seem to be putting it together.

People who blasted Detroit for signing Smith are going to have a field day with this.

Jennings potential >>>>>>>> Knight's potential

Let's be real. Jennings is a PG, we were trying to make Knight one.

This is a good move.

This is a old-school Pistons type move.

Rasheed was a headcase too..

That's going to be the issue. Joe went out and got two players who adore the long 2. They need to iron that out, and quick.

Also, I love the new avatar.

I certainly wouldn't consider Knight, Middleton and Ktrl-V a package that would net an all-star off any team. It's not as if we committed any future picks for him. At least.

WTF if BJ is one of BK worst case. We gave up a smart good hard worker PG for a lazy bird-brained. Why?

I dropped the youtube link, it didn't need to be linked again.

But, I don't want Jennings to come to Detroit and keep jacking up 15-17 shots a night. He needs to level out to a solid 16-10 player, taking smart shots and distributing the ball to Monroe, Drummond and Smith.

Really good deal for Jennings. Never understood the hype over Knight.

Jennings has a lot of potential, I hope under Billups and Mo Cheeks he live up to his potential. Knight wasn't a PG and was never going to be one.

Well, he'll definitely be getting more open looks at the three point line with Drummond/Monroe/Smith packing the paint. At approximately $8 mil per, I'm fine with giving this signing a chance. This upcoming season will be nothing if not exciting.

He could have been our sixth man...I have no clue why Dumars would trade a young piece who actually fits the Pistons profile...

Probably because the deal wouldn't have gone down without Knight. Milwaukee needed a PG - they got it.
