My thoughts on the dealio.

This is an upgrade, plain and simple. Jennings has all-star potential, can be an excellent passer, and has great court vision. He can shoot the ball, and can drive the lane. His stats for shooting are low, but ill get to that in a minute.
This trade makes sense for these reasons;
1.)New coach. Cheeks isn't really inheriting anything. Its almost a brand new team, and he is the man in charge. No egos really, as all the players are young, save for Billups, and Rasheed, (one of wich is a coach on the bench, the other on the floor) and one(Jennings) has a lot to prove.
2.)Billups and Rasheed. This is huge. Jennings is a PG. A PG is supposed to be a floor general first and foremost, and Billups can teach him that. Rasheed is a bigman. Billups and Rasheed started together, and won a title together. They can teach Jennings, and Moose, and Drumstick about how to play off each other, and the fact that they won a title, only helps this dynamic. Everytime Jennings does something stupid, Billups can take him aside, and show him game film of him and rasheed, on how to do it right. Its an awesome dynamic, not to mention Rasheed can slap him upside the head a few times.
3.)Our bigs. Moose, Drumstick, and Smith is a fearsome front-court, and is a massive upgrade over what Jennings was playing with over in deer hunter land. He has many, many more options to pass to when he drives the lane, as all our bigs are going to always be around the basket. This should garner him at LEAST 2 more APG IF he looks for them on a consistent basis(Wich is where Billups and Rasheed come in to play coaching wise) Add in the fact that on the pick and roll with Moose, it could be just unstoppable. Jennings shot selection is going to improve just based on that alone. Moose is a hell of a passer, and that pick and roll man....
4.)Scoring. No way to deny it, Jennings can score the damn ball. He is an explosive scorer, and quite frankly, something this team needed badly. No other way to say it really.
Now, with all of that said, I am worried. We got a top TALENT at a bargain price, on a great contract, but what we also got was a boneheaded decision maker, that loves to get his own.
Can he, and his teammates help him reign in his own stupidity? Only time will tell. Can he learn to truly command a team, and make other players, like Moose, and drumstick better? Again, a question mark.
One thing I know for sure is this; Joe took a huge risk with this off-season. It is really similar to when we started grabbing RIP, Billups, and Rasheed. He seems to be taking near all-star level players from around the league again, and trying to mold them into an unstoppable force. Can he succeed again? I honestly have no idea. All I know is this; If this gamble of an off-season pays off, look out because this team is loaded with talent, and in a few years, could be a real force to be reckoned with.
I applaud his willingness to put it out on the line, and for the players and coaches, its time to put up or shut-up.
Grade A+ OR Grade F I really don't know.
