Monroe to Dallas

Post#1 » by Efpest85 » Sun Aug 4, 2013 12:33 am

Just kind of looking at some rosters and had a thought if the Drummond smith Monroe front court doesn't work out let's say 20 games in trade Monroe and Jj to Dallas for Marion 2014 1st and a future 1st . I could see Cuban going after moose next year since he struck out on Dwight and Bynum this year. I am not a fan of trading Monroe personally but if the pistons make this trade they have 25 million + coming off the books next year. They could go all in on a Paul George. Just kind of looking for some thoughts on this idea

Detroit isn't a free agent destination spot. Monroe is restricted next season - Detroit can match anything.

Dallas level firsts will be in the 14-24 range - not enough for Monroe.

Indys going to give George his max, I doubt we'll even get a chance to throw an offer sheet at him. if we trade Moose I think it should be a dollar for dollar deal, not draft picks, cap space and or role players.

Yea indy is going to lock him up and add to the fact he gets along with his teammates and loves the fans and city.I would trade monroe in a heartbeat for george, not because I dont like monroe but having smith and dre here would make him expendable and to be able to trade a future allstar for a future allstar and to fill a position of need in the process would be tits.If dre and george hit their ceilings we would be good for a decade or longer. If it was at all possible to trade for him i would do monroe, stuck and a future 1st,and that might be a bit much but with our teams direction who cares about a 1st.

Nooooo. There is nothing worse we could do than to trade Monroe for a non-proven player, in a range that is yet to be determined on the chance that a top tier FA comes here.

Definite no. If, for some reason, our frontcourt doesn't work out then we will be trading either Smith or Monroe for a proven SF, not picks and capspace. We are passed that part of the rebuild. We need proven players and vets now.

Monroe isn't going anywhere. We already got the odd man out in the Run DMK (Dre, Monroe, Knight) trio. No way we're getting rid of another.

I thought these might start to get better. Much worse. Moose for Dirk? Let's talk. Nothing else on the Mavs roster is of interest.

Please! We are past the rebuilding stage. No more rookie scale players. We need “proven” players and picks if Monroe is going to be moved. I ran into this article by a guy named Shinons of SB Nation and I happen to agree with him wholeheartedly on what he thinks Monroe is worth.

I wonder if every board is this obsessed with trading their best player like this one is.
