His tweet this morning disturbs me:
@BrandonJennings: I need a couple more mirrors so I can look at myself.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Narcissus_(mythology)

Narcissus or Narkissos ," in Greek mythology was a hunter from the territory of Thespiae in Boeotia who was renowned for his beauty. He was the son of a river god named Cephissus and a nymph named Liriope.[1] He was exceptionally proud, in that he disdained those who loved him. Nemesis saw this and attracted Narcissus to a pool where he saw his own reflection in the water and fell in love with it, not realizing it was merely an image. Unable to leave the beauty of his reflection, Narcissus died.[2] Narcissus is the origin of the term narcissism, a fixation with oneself.

Context/intent is important. Twitter is tough for that, as is the internet.

I say things like this all the time, jokingly, who knows what the context is.

I have never met anyone who fits the definition, of Narcissus, to that extent.

the tweet before it was "Ovo Fest. Going Up!!!!"

2 of the 3 before that are about how competitive he is on the floor..

Maybe dude was dressed for the Ovo Festival in Toronto and thought he looked awesome... and wanted more mirrors to admire himself?

Or maybe he's the re-incarnated spirit of Narcissus?

Who knows about these things? Maybe Lex Luger?

I agree but he plays hero ball, has attitude, and just wants to get paid. I can see why people hate on him. He needs to change his image. I'm not sure he can.

He was probably joking about how good he looked today or something. I think he is fine person and a damn good young pg. who knows what he was thinking when he tweeted this. It's 100% speculation to read into these things. Let the boy play out his life in his silly ways on twitter before we trade him for a second round pick who shows no signs or narcissism.

Bulls fan here, but I've been spending a lot of time in Michigan since last fall for various reasons so I've been following the Pistons a bit (attended a Bulls @ Pistons game last December as well). I've also seen Brandon Jennings play (been to Bulls @ Bucks a couple times and even a Bucks @ Bulls contest as well during the 2011-2012 season). I saw his downward trend on that squad, but I also saw flashes of brilliance during that same timespan. I think the kid has massive potential and I think that he's gonna mesh a lot better with the squad and staff in Detroit for some reason. He obviously has way more offensive help on the Pistons. Plus, I think Detroit will also be a little friendlier to his hip hop swagger than Milwaukee was. As empty as the Palace is, I think the fanbase is much more likely to come around & start showing up for a winning team compared to the folks in Milwaukee. I wouldn't be surprised if Milwaukee sold the Bucks and they got moved to a different city.

If you had been watching him on your team for four years and seeing his antics as a young player who is supposed to take his lumps and learn from vets, you would hate him too, not necessarily personally, but from a team standpoint.
