I believe he got a training camp invite, who knows.

He was a decent backup his rookie year before injuries got him. Nothing to be excited about though

If he makes the team, there's no doubt in my mind he'll be able to fill the Kravstov role.

I know a little about him since he grew up close by in St. Charles Mo.... he can stretch the floor... was a physical player at KU... pretty short by NBA standards... it sounds like he did well in China.
He was never much of a scorer... but a pretty active defender.
He looked pretty good in the tournament in 2011... prolly wouldn't have been drafted otherwise.

Short? Is he not a true 6'10?

Considering the big men left I'd be very happy with a decent backup. He's also still young. I'll gladly take a 6'10" 270 pound big man who can stretch the floor and play solid D as our 3rd C.

6' 11" wings... 8'8.5" standing... again short by center standards

Isn't Drummond about the same exact size? Obviously he's longer and more athletic but it's not like Harrellson is 6'6 like Chuck Hayes.

Me too. Sounds like exactly what every team wants out of a back up center. Plus he's got a bit of an edge/physicality to him. Kind of plays the game like a football player would, which is the kind of players I like. Should fit in well with us trying to bring back the old school Piston attitude.

Now that we have a back-up center we can trade Monroe right?

He sucks, basically a 15th man in the NBA.

He's exactly what we'd be getting him for - a 15th man, depth big that we hope will never play meaningful minutes.

Rather have Scalabrine!
But seriously, he's not a bad end-of-the-bench guy to have. He's probably better than Kravtsov. Still liked the idea of Aldrich too.

I agree with you on that. It's not like he's Raef LaFrentz bad. If Harrelson is healthy he's decent enough to give 5 to 10 minutes a night too.

JHarrellson is better than given credit. As a Hawks fan, with no understanding why we aren't showing interest, you will not be disappointed based on his efforts and his will.
Harrellson was very good at Kentucky and will fill a nice role if given the chance. He is worthy of a NBA roster spot.

Jorts played well with the limited minutes they gave him during his time with the Knicks. Gives good defensive effort if I remember correctly. Not the best, but a decent backup if either of our twin towers go down or need rest.
