Would you sign off on this trade?

Preface: Not so much a legit RGM proposal, just a trade idea from the perspective of roster balance.
http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=lqlmfon-note- Houston would send Detroit two future first round picks (preferably FAR into the future)
Detroit sends out: Greg Monroe
Detroit receives: Chandler Parsons (24 yrs old, 15.5 PPG, 5.3 rebs, FG% .486/.385/.739 (FG, 3, FT))
Houston sends out: Parsons (Det) and Asik (76ers)
Houston receives: Greg Monroe and Evan Turner
76ers send out: Evan Turner (Hou) and a future second rd pick to Hou
76ers receive: Omer Asik
I was just toying around with line-ups really. the Hou-Philly connection is obvious, Det would only do this if talks with Monroe somehow soured, and Parsons would be a solid fit at the SF spot.
I'm not an advocate of trading Monroe. I just wanted to take the pulse on the community.

Parsons is a legit talent and has the potential to be an all star this year. It's tempting, but I think I'll keep Monroe since he's more harder to come by.

I would keep an open mind... nothing before seeing how the roster works together til at least February.

Read the whole post. I'm an advocate of keeping Greg Monroe. I was just tossing this out there for fun.

We already have a Chandler Parsons clone on the team in Singler, and one is too many. Luigi should be able to keep the female crowd interested, no we don't need that part of Parsons game either.

nah, if we had to make a move id rather try to get Klay or Barnes from G.S. before Parsons, and if we were doing a Parsons + deal id want D-Mo included.

It's more of a "if it had to happen" type question.
If it had to happen, I'd just let Moose walk and use the capspace in FA before doing this deal. Parsons is like 4th-5th option type player. Why would Joe ever do this? We need to replace Monroe with a lot better talent than that if we can't keep him, and if we can't find it in a trade then just save the money for FA. This sounds worse than Orlando trading Howard for Afflalo.
I'm almost thinking you're a Rockets fan in disguise with this proposal lol (jk I know you're a Pistons fan). This just sounds like something only the Rockets would be interested in doing though. They turn Parsons and Asik (two role players) into a budding all-star PF and a guard with all-star potential. That would a heist by Houston.

Two Houston #1 picks for the next few years are going to be 20+ type picks, almost negative value. So you get a middling SF for a skilled big man and two possible rotation players down the road.

2 1st's and cap space this summer are big positives. I think we could do a little better though. Also, it makes our logjams more log-jammy. One back-up center and he is named after jean shorts??? As usual, one trade begs another or two...

Sure, but Chandler Parsons isn't middling.
Again, I'm not saying I'd do the trade, but you guys are way, way overreacting. Parsons is a two way player with range and a very good all round game with defensive versatility, and he has the potential to get better with a breakout year happening last year.
He doesn't carry the value Monroe does, but again, way, way overreacting.

monroe is soooo much better than parsons. along with turner thats a steal for houston

I like your idea of balancing the roster, Heisenberg, but a lot of these Monroe discussions seem to forget that Monroe is our only GOOD offensive player. Smith and BJ are high usage but their efficiency is average or worse (depending on which season you're looking at), Stuck and Bynum are both one-dimensional and average, Drummond can't create at all right now. Riding Monroe is our only shot to be a good offense.
ATL was a mediocre offense and Smith was the least efficient of their three high use guys (well behind Horford), Milwaukee was a poor offense and BJ was also the worst of their three high usage options. Adding Parsons for Monroe means rolling out a lineup with two weak first options (BJ and Smith) and some good role players (Drum and Parsons). Can't think of any successful teams that didn't have a single player who could put up above average efficiency.
Maybe the issue is that Parsons has become overrated? He's a nice, versatile role player, but he's still a guy who's never had a PER above 15.5 (that's roughly league average). He's a great guy for any team to have but it's hard to see how he has all-star potential. His overall stats look nice but he played over 36 minutes per game last year to get them. He's also a year and a half older than Monroe--he'll be 25 years old by the time the season starts.
