Another KL preseason hype train article

Post#1 » by dan2314 » Thu Sep 12, 2013 9:57 am

Maybe we just need the one thread to discuss all these articles that keep coming out never failing to get me super hyped for the season. heres the latest one - 'A race to the rim'.

http://www.nba.com/pistons/features/tru ... 0911b.html

this team has all the makings to be THE most exciting team in the nba alongside the warriors perhaps, as nothing more than defensive stops through a ton of blocks, fast breaks, and dunks. similar to the clippers, but with a hell of a lot better defense and no chris paul. We might struggle in the halfcourt some games, but its only yr 1 aswell, and if this team comes together, aswell as some added pieces next offseason, there is no way you wont mind missing a game this year.

I liked everything about the article except this quite from Josh:

"I’ve played the three before. I’m a confident mid-range jump shooter."

I don't doubt your confidence, Mr. Smith. I know you think you're going to make them -- but if a Josh Smith mid-range or long 2 J is the best shot we can get on more than one or two possessions per game, we're probably going to suck.

Play D, finish lobs, finish in transition, post up a little, and put that J in your pocket, Josh.

A lot of this is going to hang on Jennings shoulders. If he does here, what he did in deerwalkee, this team is doomed.(Unless Billups has more in the tank then previously thought)

Josh saying hes confident in his jumper is what I feared when we signed him.

At least it's something to read during the most dead period of the off-season. I guess we're all pretty much in agreement that we'll only know for sure once the season gets here.

Midrange jumpers do not equate to long twos. I'm fine with him taking elbow jumpers.

On the topic of KL, its his job to hype our team. But from Stuckey seeing a psychologist to CV boxing all the way out to Knights jersey getting to small, I ignore it.

haha I was thinking the same thing, but it's hard not to at least sip on the kool aid.

Can't wait for the season to finally start.
