Does this mean Sheed won't be on the bench? Won't travel to all the games etc?

Nope. Joerger (Assistant to Hollins) was the heart and soul of Memphis' defense. Now he's the head coach.Joe Asberry wrote:ImHeisenberg wrote:I like that he's coming from Lionel Hollins' coaching staff. Hopefully he bring additional defensive experience to this team.
Thats what i am hoping. Does anyone know if Bibby was in charge of Memphis defense last season? I mean the Grizz allowed just 90 ppg, they obviously had the personal to play some pretty good defense but a really good assistant coach can make a difference on defense...see Thibodeau in Boston/Chicago.

I still dont understand why Dumars went with Cheeks when other really quality coaches were available. I dont trust Mo and his guys at all, but Sheed is a feel good story for sure.
So far i ve read Cheeks wants to run more, but nothing else with substance about offense or defense at all.
Literally no one. Nobody wanted to coach a small team that was pretty much on rebuild mode and fires coaches after every few years.DetroitSho wrote:Joe Asberry wrote:So Mo is surrounding himself with old pals, great. Who was available, better and was interested? Just curious.
