Coach You: Top Lineups

Come up with your 5 best lineups, why, and for what situations...

Mine:

Defensive Havoc (aka starting lineup):
BJ
KCP
Smith
Monroe
Drummond
This lineup has Drummond, Smith, and KCP wreaking havoc... BJ and Greg Monroe getting steals (Moose is bad overall defender but above average at steals). 3 plus defenders creating fast break opportunities.
---

Balance Unit (2nd lineup):
BJ
KCP
Singler
Smith
Monroe
This lineup plugs a good decision maker and shooter in at SF. All the coaches say that Singler is always in the right spots... plus he helped out with spacing last year.
--

Pace & Space:
Chauncey
Stuckey
Datome
Harrelson
Drummond
This lineup slows things down and controls the halfcourt. It spaces the floor and draws a lot of freethrows. Datome & Harrelson & Chauncey hit 3s, Chauncey & Stuckey produce off p& R with Drummond.
--

Offensive Spark:
Bynum
Chauncey
Datome
Jerebko/CV
Drummond
This lineup provides an offensive spark with Will the thrill getting lobs to Drummond with Chauncey and Datome spotting up for 3s. Jerebko's hustle gives a spark to the game when they get sluggish. Jerebko & Drummond provide good D. Chucky sucks on D so he only plays if he's unconscious from 3.
--

Rookie Experience:
Peyton Siva
KCP
Datome
Mitchell
Drummond
Let the young guys play and see what the future should look like. The main goal of this lineup is to get Siva and Mitchell some good experience and game chemistry with Drummond.

Big D Line-up = Drummond, Monroe, Smith, K.C.P, Stuckey = we go big and we're in lockdown mode

Coaches Favourite = Monroe, Smith, Singler, Stuckey, Jennings... I think Mo will love this group

THE Line-up = Monroe, Smith, Datome, K.C.P, Jennings = good balance between O and D

Raining 3's = Drummond, CV, Datome, Jennings, Billups

Run Forest Run = Drummond, Smith, Singler, Jennings, Bynum

I hope not as I think any line-up with Stuckey in it is a losing one. Scares me a lot when I think about it.

I was just reading an article with Cheeks talking about rotations, and it finally set in for me how awesome it is that Maxiell is no longer on this team. :)

I believe that Mo will love the Monroe, Smith, Singler, Stuckey and Jennings line-up for obvious reasons:

Monroe isn't a great defender... playing Smith with him provides the weakside help Monroe needs... everyone in that line-up should be able to hold their own on D so we can send help if Monroe has a match-up that he'll struggle with

On the other end of the floor:

Monroe works the high/low while we force Smith closer to the bucket so he doesn't jack up long jumpers.

Singler would be the guy who doesn't need plays for him and can stick the open shot. I believe people hate on him because he was over-used last season. In lesser minutes his flaws don't kill us.

Stuckey can handle the ball some, allowing us to play Jennings off the ball if we choose. Stuckey also can still play his natural "head down/drive it home" game but in this line-up he'll have Jennings, Singler and Smith providing some spacing.

I don't love this line-up, but it's one I believe Mo will like simply because with it you masks a lot of our individuals issues

I like your D line up and your Raining 3s lineup... I doubt the Stuckey at point thing would fly unless BJ, Chauncey or Bynum were injured...

Raining 3s would be fun in 3rd quarters if they were behind and needed a spark.

At least at one point this season I want to see this lineup for an extended period of time:
Stuckey, Singler, Smith, Moose, Drummond

Just imagine the size! Every single position would feature a decisive size advantage. Maybe switch in CV or Jorts for Moose if you want some semblance of spacing. But still, it'd be like playing basketball in a forest with all those tall, long big bodies.

Or, for another Raining 3's/empty the bench unit:

Billiups/KCP/Datome/CV/Jorts

They'd be awful, but it's be hilarious. What shooting problem? We've got guys who can hit threes at every position on the court!

Finally, the crazy athlete lineup:
Bynum/KCP/Mitchell/Smith/Drummond

If Mitchell can get hit 3's at a league average rate, that lineup could conceivable work on the court, even if it wouldn't be optimal. But what we'd really sign up for is the break-neck pace, the lobs, and the blocks. It'd be brains-free basketball fun.

That crazy athletic lineup is bananas, I'd actually try that one out in fourth-quarter is one of the teams are tired, and just crush them out run them and intimidate them football style for a few minutes
