Time to kick off the season!!
First real look except for the scrimmage to see Jennings, Smith, Billups, and KCP show us how much they will be contributing this season, and also to see how different lineups work together.
Siva and Datome seem unlikely to play, and Monroe apparently with slight hamstring at practice may be held out as a precaution.
If Monroe misses, i would assume Smith starts at PF and Singler starts at SF. The biggest question is who is the starting 2? Has KCP done enough to be the starter? If Singler starts, does it make it easier to have Stuckey there for the first game?
Rotations are also a very clear indication of who has impressed Cheeks and who he wants to play throughout the year. Ill be looking out for who comes on first between DNP-CV and Jonas, and if anyone else gets buried on the bench for most of the game.
Would like to see how Smith/Monroe/Drummond plays out, but im not sure we see it yet unfortunately.


Also worth noting that Maccabi Haifa just got destroyed by the SUNS(!) by 41 points, so it could be a good chance to feel really good about the team

i can't wait to declare that our Pistons are going to be World Champions after we destroy Maccabi by 10.

There is a place to watch it -- at the Palace, where I'll be.

Only way to keep up with the game is go in person, or listen on the local radio.

As long as the team can get through a pre-season without anyone suffering an season ending injury, I'm more than happy. Moose not playing isn't a big deal. It obviously is their first game to build chemistry while still playing with house money, but they'll have plenty of games to do so.

surely theres a telecast on league pass atleast. today i checked into the mavs v pelicans game and that had a radio broadcast as audio over a normal tv broadcast type video. every game so far has been broadcast, it would be awfully unlucky for this one to not be.

Other teams are covering games played in canada, phillipines, turkey and whereever else, and we cant get a game covered at home? Really? Thats really poor. Thats what the newcomers are meant to think of the franchise?

This is going to be weird watching the Pistons vs a Euro team. I really want Monroe to play so we can see the frontcourt trio together.

It stinks that, while living in Detroit, I can't watch a preseason game without having to pay for league pass.

Drive up to the palace, ask for a voucher for as many as you need, go up to the ticket window, and you'll get free 200 level seats for the game.

You cant even do that. Local blackout rules. Its absolutely asinine how the NBA handles the online portion in this day and age.

Unless you watch on your computer, and change IP address. Then the streaming is a bunch of crap, that doesn't work half the time.

The NBA has the WORST online anything compared to the other major sports. The new player pages, and stat pages are just horrific now. Who decides these things? People who don't watch, or do anything related to sports?

I would rather have Stuckey starting then Billups. That was really tough to type. Billups should be off the bench as a PG.

It was tweeted by Langlois. What do you have against Billups starting?

This is probably my #1 preferred lineup, personally. We need 2 shooters in the backcourt to balance out the froncourt, and Chauncey's experience adds value too. I think Stuckey can have a role on this team, but just not in that lineup with those 4. Too many non-shooters.

I like the idea of KCP starting too, but I have no problem going with the vet in Chauncey for now. Its probably best for the team.

Keep in mind they plan to audition all of the SGs in the starting lineup throughout preseason. So you'll likely see the lineup you want eventually.
