He was the Rocket's final cut.
He's 6'6" and, at the very least, can shoot the ball. I say we should look to sign him as a shooting specialist to bring off the bench.
Just need to open up a roster spot somehow...

Hopefully Datome fills that hole, if not I still don't think he's even worth cutting somebody to bring in.

You would think our full roster and young prospects would stop the inevitable thread whenever a player with some burn in the league gets waived, but no, they march on in the face of all logic.
We have to learn who this team is and what we have before we go lobbing off parts.

It is tradition. It would be odd if someone became available and we didn't banter it about. That being said, I think we have enough bench. If we make a move, we need to improve the quality of our main rotation. Williams would likely be on the bench.

So what? God forbid we talk about basketball players, especially ones that are currently in the headlines, on a basketball forum...
Personally, I'm not a fan of Reggie Williams. He hasn't had much of a career since he left the Warriors. Only a 30% 3pt both years at Charlotte, and he doesn't bring anything else to the court.

And after saying all that you have a hard time figuring out why I question paying a player to go away or even worse going thru the trouble of making a trade just to bring him on?

If I may intervene, no, he was not having a hard time figuring out why you question paying a player to go away or go through the trouble of making a trade to bring him on. He was agreeing with that perspective. His issue was with the resistance to discussion on said matters.
If I am deciphering ParrotK's message correctly (and correct me if I'm wrong. I'm an English teacher, and as they say, those who can't do, teach) he is of the belief that this is a discussion board, and as such, we should use it for discussions such as this.
Again, I may be way off. He could've been spouting off an anti-everything diatribe against all of us that would pierce through our souls which would then shrivel up into a crusty pea sized cluster, if only we were able to fully realize its meaning. If this is what he was doing, he should most certainly be banned. Is this what you were doing, ParrotK?

If Daryl "Cut em" Morey releases somebody, they're pretty much terrible. That is all.
