Predatory trade w the Knicks

They are just f--ked. Pretty happy about that. Just looking at their salaries and lack of flexibility, I wonder if they would do something like this:
Bargnani, Shumpert, Hardaway Jr for CV and Stuckey?
It saves them 15Mil next year, and not sure what their multiplier is on the lux tax. Gives us a couple of useful youngsters and Bargnani, who cannot be worse than CV.

don't mind this idea, really high on Shumpert as a defender and a shooter, Hardaway looks nice, and yes, Bargnani can't be worse than CV.
Don't know that the Knicks would sacrifice that much to save money, especially if they think Carmelo is gonna leave

I'm not a fan of flipping one year of CV for two years of Bargnani. On top of that adding Shumpert and Hardaway creates a bigger logjam at guard.

I really like Shumpert. I'd do that trade. Bargnani becomes an expiring after this year so he becomes an asset too. That said, I'd be very surprised if the Knicks made that trade. Trading Shumpert (imo) pretty much guarantees that Carmelo would bolt at the end of the year. That said, now that Chandler is out they're going to be crashing and burning this year, so maybe they'd want out of some salaries anyway.

If they decide to burn it to the ground, getting out of a year of Bargnani's contract shouldn't cost them both Shumpert (a good player) and Hardaway (a decent prospect).

There is literally no chance in the entire world that they would trade the only player on their team that has a bright future (Shumpert) in a salary dump.

Of course they shouldn't do it, but things are looking ugly in New York

I'd do it. I actually like Bargnani, contrary to popular opinion.
I think this Chandler situation opens up a potential Carmelo trade as well, if they are convinced he's going to leave in FA and are losing. I wouldn't be surprised to hear Joe go after him, if he feels we need a star scorer like that and would rather give that money to him than Monroe. Not saying they should do that by any means, but after seeing George go off last night, I could see Dumars feeling like he needs a scorer at that position to counter. It wouldn't really change our dominance up front either, as Melo would actually increase our scoring in the frontcourt. Just something to ponder, but I like Monroe for now.

We have no first round draft picks to trade until we give one to the Bobcats. Obtaining Carmelo (even if he WAS going to be to traded) is impossible for us unless you wanna trade, Monroe+Drummond+extra, which I do not.

It wouldn't take both of them, unless there's another team offering a better young player than Monroe, which I can't see there being. So if Monroe is the most talented player being offered to the Knicks, and they felt they needed to get something for him before he leaves, then Monroe + one of our expirings would probably be enough, in my opinion. The Pistons do have future picks they could include too if nec. They just wouldn't recieve them until after CHA gets theirs

I'd love to have Shump and THJ, but can we afford to take on Bargnani's salary? We've got Moose's extension coming up, and I don't know if Gores is willing to go into the luxury tax. Plus, we'd have to get rid of one more player to make room, and that's probably Siva. And what is Shump's contract like?
Of course, NYK would be crazy to do this, and the only crazy things the Knicks do are attempts to get better, and this certainly wouldn't make them better.

Jeebuschrissnostopnostopnostop... Melo as a Piston would make me question my support of the franchise.

Shump's in his 3rd year rookie since he's from 2011. He's pretty much a lock down defender with a decent looking 3 stroke that's coming along a lot more nicely than I thought. Pretty much what KCP developing into, IMO.
I would think we'd give up a LOT more than just our worthless expirings to nab Shump, THJ, and Bargs.

I wouldnt mind trading Siva, Stuckey, Charlie V, Bynum for Bargs, Shumpert, and Tim Hardaway Jr
Bench:
1: Billups
2-3: KCP / Tim Hardaway Jr / Singler
4: Bargs / Mitchell

I don't think they'll be desperate enough to unload players that they'll trade young guys they like like Shumpert just to unload unwanted players.
They are the Knicks. They aren't going to have cap space anytime soon and they're never going to be that desperate to save money.

New York would never do that especially mid season.
Real question is if they do Amare and Shumpert for Stuckey, CV, Jonas

Amare's contract is literally cancer though. They would have to throw in THJ and use JR as their main 2.
Honestly, the Knicks are a complete mess right now. I'm glad we don't have an owner like Dolan.

No way you take on Amare's contract. Not to get a player like Shumpert. I like him, but no way in hell do you do that.

When a team has excessive salary and not much chance at progressing they absolutely will dump salary + talent...
there's nothing in the RealGm handbook that says every trade proposal has to be automatically shut down...
Not bad.
