Kings Starters:
Vasquez/ Mclemore/ Salmons/ Thompson/ Cousins

After a 5 game losing streak, malone decided to start mclemore over thornton in what turned out to be a blowout win at home against brooklyn. Mclemore struggled and only played about 15 mins, but thornton had a huge game off the bench, and vasquez who had been struggling played his best game of the season. Cousins has been beasting all season too when not in foul trouble.

For us, smith and monroe should have a clear advantage over salmons and thompson, and the kings are not a great 3PT shooting team either so far this season so the way we like to pack the paint shouldnt be as much of an issue as it has been recently. Mclemore, thornton, isiaih, and salmons all have the ability to light you up though so we still have to be careful. I think that offensively, we should have our way inside against this team, despite malone bringing a high emphasis on the defensive end. It will again be defensively for us that will matter. No way should cousins have a big night. He is our primary objective. With this many big bodies, he should be taken care of. However the way the defense has been lately, and with how good cousins is, he might still beat us. The battle with drummond v cousins should be awesome to watch, and i would not be surprised if they thoroughly dislike each other after this game (if they dont already from last year, i cant remember, dre probably didnt play on him much anyway).

Billups apparently missed practice over the 2 day break with knee tendinitis, which was coupled with reports that cheeks was unsure if there would be any lineup changes coming into this game. I personally really hope he does move things around. It appeared during the golden state game that he was realising how these rotations arent working and almost treated it like a preseason game in the way that he was just throwing out all kinds of lineups and went right into the end of the bench. I would be shocked if chauncey is the starting 2Guard in this game. Its time for a change. Whether its stuckey or its pope, it needs to change.
I would LOVE to see a mclemore v pope matchup!

Cousins definitely hasn't been "beasting" consistently. He's had a few choice games, and a lot of no-shows.

But, if Cousins does cherry pick this to be a big game, it could be a rough night for Detroit. Which is possible, as he and Monroe like to go at one another.

This should be the game that Detroit wins on this road trip. If they lose, this forum will get interesting.

Cousins has been an absolute freak of nature this year but Monroe is still the better player, should be a great match up between the two with Drummond involved as well.

Sac's entire team is Cousins & Isiah Thomas. Hence not 1 other starter in double figures aside from Cousins.

Cousins is leading them in points, rebounds, steals, and blocks putting up ~ 22 / 10 / 2 / 1.5

I expect us to win this one, but worry about it being our West coast trap game where we underestimate them and their role players have huge nights -- guys like McLemore, Thornton, Vasquez, Thomas, Patterson, Thompson. Hope one-two of them don't blow up tonight.

Monroe usually plays Cousins well. Should be a great matchup and I feel the Pistons are gonna prove people wrong!!!

No Chauncey tonight. Cheeks said either Stuckey or KCP starts, wouldn't say which though he did mention he likes the energy Stuck brings off the bench...here's hoping KCP starts and shows he deserves it.

If ever there were a game to ease KCP into the starting lineup, this would be it, with SAC starting Mclemore. It would be a fair matchup for Pope to go against his rookie SG counterpart, instead of putting him into the lineup against a veteran all-star. Makes too much sense to not give him a chance tonight.

I'm surprised KCP is getting starting nods tonight. KCP should be able to hold his own against McLemore tonight, or at the very least, make McL work hard for buckets.

I'm cautiously optimistic about us winning today.

I'm flipping a coin, trying to decide if it's Thorton or McLemore that's going to be raining 3's on us tonight. Detroit has been doing a fine job of letting role players have career nights against our defense.

Now, the game gets interesting. Why did this have to happen on a Friday night when I will be driving to Fort Myers for a 3 day partying weekend on the beach, damn!

I cannot possibly pick us to beat any team given our recent performances so I think we lose this game and we continue to show our glaring deficiencies. I'm very happy KCP is getting the start though. Now I'm going to be really nervous about him playing well... This is your chance KCP.... Don't blow it.

As terrible as the Pistons have been, its kinda cool seeing them on ESPN again. When was the last time they had a game on there? The last one I remember is the one where Stuckey passed out against the Cavs.

Happy that KCP is starting.

I hope he makes the most of his opportunity, it will be interesting too see how he goes against McLemore.
