I know this is old news but iam wondering why white didnt get more of a chance after his injury sidelined him his rookie year and was still partialy bothering him afterwards.Do any of you think we should have given him a little more time?

He reportedly had poor work ethic, and took way longer to rehab than they were expecting.

Thats sad if true,he had alot of the right tools but if the mental aspect isnt there then it dosent really matter

Kind of shame. Dude had a lot of talent for a 2nd rounder. Solid handles, decent jumper with great form, pretty good at attacking the basket. He was without a doubt the best athlete in that class.

I think John Wall may be a bit faster but Terico had some insane hops.

I was disappointed it didn't work out for White. So athletic. But, if he didn't have the drive, it would be a lost cause.

Just goes to show you that you can't just be an solid athlete to be a solid player in this league.

Yep. The road to the NBA is paved with athletes like him. The mental side of the game is under appreciated around draft time when we are immersing ourselves in stats and measurements. So it goes.

On an aside, I see that Bennet is sucking. Is the NBA the most difficult sport to draft and to predict success of incoming players? Or are the other sports having about the same hit and miss percentage?

The fact that he's no longer in the league pretty much comfirms the Pistons didn't make a mistake not keeping him.

I remember the pick at the time. The Pistons looked like they have gotten a steal. White seemed like a kid who thought he was better than he was. His lack of effort and desire ultimately were his downfall.

Tony Mitchell should read up on him. They sound vaguely similar-super athletic guys who can dunk like bosses, but not super-skilled. Mitchell had questions about his work ethic too. He'll have to work hard to make it in the NBA, especially since he won't see much playing time behind our front court, and also because Cheeks doesn't use a big rotation.
