Starting a thread now because I think this game is going to be a lot more entertaining that many anticipate. Also gives us a place to discuss the upcoming matchup rather than arguing about whether our team sucks or not.

- Both teams are struggling and have been disappointments thus far.





-Jennings decided to go at the Smith Bros.


We haven't beat them since March 2011, being outscored by an average of almost 18 points.




This would a great game to turn the corner.

And related to the matchup, its pretty interesting...

Dre vs Bargs

Moose on Melo (Do we see a Zone so Moose doesn't have to go at a guard?)

We will personally be responsible for getting NYK back on track. They will light us up with 57 three pointers, we will give up offensive rebounds like they were candy on Halloween, we will give no effort to contest shots in the paint, and of course half of this board will make excuses as to why we still suck.

Bargnani 20/20, Amare 40/20, and even Kenyon Martin may get in a light 16/20 on the night.

Another winnable game. Whether we actually win or not is yet to be seen.

This would be a great opportunity for Cheeks to get a look at the starting lineup with one of the bigs off the bench. As he could just explain it to them as a matchup thing, and not have it seem like they are being benched.

Because if they are starting Bargnani/Melo/JR Smith up front, other than going zone, I don't see how we can matchup. Given our defensive problems, you would think how we match up with them would take precedence over how they match with us at this point. We need to put out the lineup that gives us the best chance to succeed on defense. Obviously we have to start Smith being our best and only matchup for Melo, and then Dre can guard Bargnani, but there's no way Moose can guard JR Smith lol. So I think it would be a good time for Cheeks to experiment with bringing him off the bench.

He could also start Moose/Smith and bring Dre off the bench, but with our problems defensively, starting Dre instead makes way more sense. Plus I never want to see Drummond coming off the bench again.

This is a VERY winnable game for Detroit. New York's interior is a joke right now, with Chandler out.

Melo will probably have a 30+ point game, which has been his norm so far this season. But, Detroit should have an overall advantage here.

I definitely expect a win here.

i hope chris smith plays. if there's not a fight between brandon and j.r smith i will be very disappointed.

Yeah, I'm expecting huge shooting numbers. Something like 5-24 on field goals with 6 assists.

Because your intuition tells you that Carmelo has been destroying the Pistons since he arrived in NY, and NY will likely shoot Detroit right out of the game by the half.
