Let the lottery talk begin.

Post#1 » by Shooter1 » Thu Nov 21, 2013 3:04 am

Until the Pistons get a top 3 pick and a legit superstar to build around it will be years before they become a contender. We all saw that J Smith in the wrong position was going to be well.... Just stupid. You think Joe would have learned his lesson on signing FA just to sign FA.

Let the Andrew Wiggins talks begin.

The pick is only top 8 protected, without a serious tanking effort there is no way the Pistons will manage to get into the bottom 8. They will lose the pick to Charlotte.

I wouldn't panic yet. It should be a lesson to the handful of delusional people that thought this team would make anything resembling a deep playoff run though.

Then Dumars needs to get on the phone asap so we can make some trades and get this tank rolling.

You mean, let the Charlotte Bobcat's two picks talk begin.

This team won't be bad enough to get a top 8 pick. They're going to finish somewhere between 10 and 16. Either a high lotto pick or a bottom playoff team pick.

We're too early to say that we need to start tanking, that's how bad teams operate. We're not that badly run contrary to popular belief.

Yes, watching this team has been utter hell, and I think Simmons hyped up the watchability in that respect, but not yet to hit the panic button.

Jefferson/Monroe could work. Jefferson is much better out of the high post than Monroe is....

So we can continue to be the worst shooting team in the league? Is this real life?

While we obviously have a number of issues, if the season ended right now we'd be the 8th seed and we've played the most difficult schedule of any Eastern Conference team. There were always going to be growing pains, and it appears that a lot of teams are in the trade market. So if things don't pick up I think we'll be able to make a change.

Our coach is a concern, but there's no need to get all doom and gloom so soon. We could be either of the New York teams...

I think we look like we cant make the playoffs, we need to tank.

Lets be honest, this team as it currently is will never contend, we need a Wiggins/Parker/Exum

Every trade scenario he's ever put up has been horrible. Why would today be any different?

We're 4-7. And we're still in the playoffs if the season were to end today.

Seriously, this was the board's opinion before the season started:

We're going to be a low playoff seed (5th-8th), but we will start slow as it will take time to figure out how all the parts work together.

This is our opinion after 11 games when we were 100% correct about starting slow and amazingly, still in a playoff position:

WHAT? HOW ARE WE NOT 10-1? WHO COULD HAVE EXPECTED THIS? HEADS ARE GONNA ROLL! FIRE JOE, TRADE MONROE, SEND DRUMMOND TO THE D-LEAGUE, PLAY SIVA AND MITCHELL STARTER MINUTES, AND DRIVE THIS TANK BACK INTO THE TEAL AGE! NOBODY COULD'VE PREDICTED THIS! (except when nearly all of us did....not a month ago)
Tom Gores' Securus faced a class action lawsuit in 2024. The company engaged in a "quid pro quo kickback scheme" with county jails in Michigan which banned in-person visits in order to maximize revenue from voice and video calls.

This roster as-is could win alot of games and have the potential to cause some damage in the playoffs if only it had a competent coach........

There is no way we will end the season in the bottom 8. We have way too much upside. Trying to tank for the lottery this year is fool's gold. It's demoralizing and won't move us forward. More than likely it will only benefit the Bobcats.

It's painful to watch this team right now, but I'm confident they will improve. We don't need to blow the team up, we just (badly) need to tighten up the mental errors and tune up fundamentals. They have only played 10 games together. It's way too soon for lottery talk.
