Only thing we need to worry about is staying out of the 7/8 seeds because Miami and Indiana are that much better than everyone else in the east.

Top four seeds go to division winners so we need to make sure we end up in the 5th or 6th seed to avoid Miami and Indiana and we'll have at least a solid chance at a good first round series and possible trip to the second round... Will be huge for us to get that playoff experience with these young guys... to get them a taste of what its all about.

When looking at the current Eastern standings, 5th seed is entirely possible, heck even 4th seed maybe if we're extremely lucky.

I applaud your optimism. This team will be lucky to get the 7th seed at their current pace.

I don't think this is the current pace. Teams come together and can win at much higher clip rate after the new year.

Winning your division isn't necessary for a top 4 seed.

The Hawks are currently the 3rd seed even though they don't lead their division. Pistons are a game behind them.

Honestly the east has only 3 teams above .500 at the moment. I don't think we can discount any possibilities at this juncture.

If we even play a little better than this 6th or even 5th is remotely possible. That fact says a lot more about the sad state of the conference than it does about us though.

This & I could make an argument playing a Miami would be possibly the best playoff experience we could get.

Best case scenario, we get the 5th seed and we'll advance to the semis.

with the way the conference is, 4th or 5th seed would be kind of easy.

Pistons had the hardest schedule in the league the first 10 games. Then Mo Cheeks finally started running lineups that made sense, and Jennings decided to be a passer instead of a chucker.

Its wide open... and yeah that just means the conference sucks. But it is what it is.

as of now that seems nice. i find it hard to believe seeds 4 and under will be 500 or worse when the season ends. i figure atleast another team or two will emerge, who knows maybe detroit. but it looks like everyone is battling to tank but some tank better than others

5th seed is probably good. beat up on the raptors or nets and then play the heat and see how champions play.

You are correct 3rd is still possible.

Biggest point of this thread is that it seems like we no team has seperated itself as better than the rest from the 3-8 spots so in the playoffs we will have a legit chance to win as long as we can stay out of the 7 or 8 seeds.

i think atlanta has, they arent on mia or indy level but they arent as bad as the rest of the conference. we should know after the back to back losses we took to them
