Monroe for Cousins?

I think we could use Cousins, but I doubt Detroit does it.

At this point, absolutely. I'd take that risk. The Kings are building around Cousins and his insanity, though, so it's never going to happen.

Cousins plays like a MAN. A psycho, crybaby man, but he's still got way more talent than Monroe.

It's sad that I now prefer Cousins, by the way. I'm sad he's the one that's done most of the improving.

I think Sacramento would be the ones who turn this down at this stage.
It's such a fine line between stupid and clever.

I was all for this trade on draft night in 2010. Now? No thanks. This isn't a guy that's well liked on his team. His teammates can't possibly like him, he's a total a-hole to them. And it's not like when KG was a dick to his teammates. At least KG was a winner, and a defensive powerhouse. Cousins just gets mad if his teammates aren't constantly passing to him so he can throw up a bad shot.

His overall numbers are better than Monroe, but they're both wildly inconsistent. And, Monroe doesn't have a usage rate anywhere near Cousins.

Drum is pretty well grounded playing alongside Monroe . I hate to think what he would be like if he started his career alongside Cousins.

If we didn't have such a young roster and had fewer boneheaded players I'd do it. Cousins is capable of having a larger impact. But he's the sort of player that needs to be in the right situation, which is probably a team with more maturity and stronger veteran leadership.

I wanted this trade BEFORE the 2012 SEASON even STARTED.

No point now with Drummond who is already a perennial superstar

But Monroe needs to go and josh needs to be moved to the 4

Joes really being patient about this. He better make a good deal

Agreed.

Edit: Joe needs to find players who can open it up on offense and shut it down on defense. Try to build the team around Drummond.

No. It's a dumb suggestion - no offense - but we have Drummond, and Cousins is a massive team cancer.

Close this thread and move along. Nothing to see here.

Last year this deal may have been possible, now Kings don't even answer the phone, another thread that just proves we need a post count minimum to start threads

The Kings never get the phone call. Joe D worked years to clear his roster of team cancer and knuckleheads. Cousins is a terrible teammate. Every year we hear about how he's going to improve on that - mature. Right.

Did you catch his on-court screaming act recently where he was tearing into McLemore for taking a shot in crunch time?

The guy is a massive mental case and a team cancer. That's not improving - it's not going away. Dumars isn't going for a guy like that. And even if Joe wasn't sensitive to this concern, we have Drummond and Drummond's the obvious future for the league at the position Cousins plays.

I think your basing this more on his past than on his present. Cousins actually seems to have matured, or at least is maturing. He doesn't like to lose and wants the ball, when your that talented of a center and the franchise player, I don't mind him yelling at a rookie because he hates losing.

Whats sad about this, is that if only Monroe had a **** jumper, none of this would ever be discussed. He is an animal down on the block, and getting to the rim, but when you HAVE to do that every time, you become easy to guard. If he could develop a turn around jumper, or a face-up jumper, he would be worth a big deal.

*sigh*

Just sad.

22.6 and 10.4 rebounds with a 26.27 PER. He'd beyond better than Monroe we'd have to give up some picks.

I'd rather have a mental headcase superstar Center than a guy who's not even better than Carlos Boozer.

From what I've read from Kings fans, Cousins has matured greatly this year and has taken on a leadership role. He's still a jerk to the other team (mainly just the Clippers), but you don't have to be Mr. Friendly towards other teams to be a good team leader.
