I cant, for the life of me figure out why everyone seems to hate this kid. I was discussing him on the general board with a mod, and I couldn't continue the conversation because he just Hates Brandon Jennings. I usually don't use that term, because its thrown out all the time, but man, the magnitude of hatred Jennings gets, is weird.

I like him. He's cocky, leads the team, takes big shots, and is a real deal PG.

I know some here hate him as well, but others have come around a little. Its the level of hatred, almost universal that has me shaking my head.

Did he do something? Some sort of scandal I didn't read about? What the hell is it about Jennings that makes people just go nutso?

Honestly, I didn't like him when he played for the Bucks. I like most people thought he was just a chucker and nothing else. While he isn't perfect, he's turned me into a fan. He's the best PG we've had in a long time

People see him as wasted talent. Shot too much, mouth too big, has some weaknesses that make him come off as a non-committed player (can't shoot a layup with his right hand). He's also a bit of a wannabe thug, which is pretty obviously an act because he's far from a tough guy.

I like him, though. He has the talent to be a top 5 PG. He's played better for us than for Milwaukee, and could very well improve further. The bar was also incredibly low after Knight.

Yeah he's got a stigma on realgm due to his shot selection and the Bucks board hating him. Some of its deserved, most of its over the top.

When he was with Milwaukee I hated him because I saw him as an overly cocky player with an attitude problem. I despised him. That said, I like him quite a bit now =P If he hadn't been traded to the Pistons though, I probably would still dislike him.

When I watch him I feel like he's perpetually out of control.

He's always one step ahead of where he should be on the court.

I don't HATE him. I just think he brings occasional positives and undeniable negatives.

A. That same mod also compared Drummond to Tyson Chandler using stats.

B. Jennings shot a lot at Milwaukee, first thing I thought when Monta Ellis signed with the Bucks was, "SHOTS SHOTS SHOTS!!!!" So understandably, that's going to stick with people.

C. Some players just have the uncanny ability to draw in vitriol or admiration.

He's one of those cocky players you hate when he's not on your team.
Personally i'm not a huge fan of jennings, but he's slowly turning me around.
The problem for is his inconsistency and at times he looks for a flashy play instead of doing the right thing.
He's proved to be a better PG than what i thought he'd be i'll give him that.
2 things i'd like to see from him before i join the jennings fan club is 1. don't be so scared of contact and 2. improve the shot selection.

It's annoying to hear fans of other teams talk bad about one of your players that you know damn well they've barely watched. Jennings has been dogged so bad for so long that your not going to change any outside perspective minds on a sports forum full of fans that look for the negatives in everyone not on they're own teams. Jennings numbers don't suggest any change to the naked eye. But as fans of the team we know that he has been playing the right way this year and I've been very happy with him. He still has some bad habits of throwing up a bad shot here and there but hes been a positive overrall. Remember all the stupid things we always heard about Drummond from these same people that was so far from any sort of truth. All they know is what a stat line tells them.

i've always liked him tbh. he doesnt play scared and takes big shots, not a wuss like greg monroe. like him even more since he is with the pistons

Why do you say "Honest Question" when it isn't one?

You're making a defense of him right after a big shot to win a game. I'd be more impressed if you did it after a bad game.

I wouldn't worry about what that mod says. He banned me three days for saying "For good reason." to a Knick fan whining that everyone hates the Knicks, yet rips Detroit passive aggressively every time he gets the chance.

I'd probably think he's a prat if he was our best player like he was when he was on your team.

He was never close to the Bucks best player. He'll never be the best player on any NBA team.

Jennings has been a dramatic upgrade at PG for us this season. That being said- he still has flaws as he is shooting sub 40% from the field again. He has a habit of dominating the ball and then chucking up a wild shot- and is a lousy defender. He's not a terrible player as I thought when he was a Buck, but he's definately a guy who makes you shake your head.

The talent is there but he needs someone to develop it. As Cheeks said, he's still learning the position. Hopefully in time he takes 3-4 less shots and improves his efficiency. I think Jennings has the talent to average 10 assists per game but he doesn't have the discipline yet.

I don't think you learn to be unselfish. That's more about attitude and leadership. I just don't think this guy has that stuff.

Some people just always seem to have foregone conclusions about a lot of things with no regard for facts.
Sad, but true.

I have had quite a few discussions with certain people which tend to end with...."Whatever, man! I just hate him/that."

Agreed. Less shots and refined focus defensively would help Jennings.

I'd like to also see him develop a pick-n-roll game with Drummond much like Bynum had last season. Jennings has a decent floater in his arsenal. So we should get a nice alley-oop to Drummond or a Jennings floater off this action every time.

He might take less shots if he was on the floor with other shooters.
