Chauncey,it's over.

He's washed up,not even a shell of his former self.My man is out there looking like Eddie Kane Jr singing in the parking lot.Every time he touches the ball I expect disaster (either a old man turnover or just a horrible low IQ shot).I know he still gets love because of his earlier days but he's done. He's the worst guard on our team.I'd rather have Siva out there because he'll at least get valuable game experience. Will &Stuck (when healthy) should have share all of the back up minutes at the guard position.Put Chauncey in a suit next to Sheed, someone has to put the old dog out of his misery.

I will agree that he's definitely not playing anywhere near the level we're used to him playing at. I still prefer him as our backup PG over Bynum. But he should not be getting and PT at SG over KCP.

It's sad to see. He will always be remembered fondly by Pistons fans.

He's done, I'm hoping he will retire after the seasons end. I fell like Cheeks feels obligated to play him more then he should.

Was at the game last night, Billups is one of the slowest players I have witnessed playing live.

Absolute trash.

Him and Bynum are probably the two worst back up PG in the league.

I luv Billups , but agree he should only be playing backup point guard , and then only 10 to 12 minutes a game. I never thought I be saying this but we really need Stuckey back, I beleive we would have won last night with him.

Did anybody really expect billups to perform for us this year? Hes a stand up guy who respects this organization and we give the same respect back.

The deal he signed was basically a farewell tour and a transition into his future (front office and/or coaching) with the pistons.

That being said if he's still playing around playoff time ill take him for that derek fisher type of role.

His voice in the locker room will also help with guys like smoove and jennings.

Are you basing this all off of last nights game?

I think he's had his moments this year where he's looked old and out of shape. But he's also had games where he's played really well and contributed meaningful minutes.

So do you just have a poor memory or what?

It's sad to see. I'd still rather have him out there than Siva/Bynum though.

Chauncey just has no explosiveness or quickness left. Sometimes he makes a very believable fake and attempts to drive past his guy, but he's just too slow to do it. Because of that, he's pretty much had to rely on just shooting threes.

In any case, he's still a voice out of the floor as far as helping the young guys and directing people. I still think he should back up Jennings for 10-12 mins, but as PG only. Him and Jennings/Bynum/Siva shouldn't be on the floor together.

^yeah, I mean he's obviously not perfect at his age, and would be better just playing 10 minutes or so here and there, but the only reason he's playing so much lately is because of injuries to Stuckey/Bynum, so it is what it is. He still gives us a better chance for success than Siva, who is just not ready yet, and developing backup PGs should be last on this teams list of priorities.

How about a little respect. Billups is not "trash" he's just getting to old to play the position, and its time to hang em' up.

Chauncey would be decidedly less trashy if he could make his 3P shots.

I honestly expected alittle more from billups,I knew he would be slower than alot of pg and not terrible good on defense but I figured his offense would be better and not so turnover prone.Theres just something I cant place my finger on,maybe its jitters.

I will say I do like him back in the leadership roll on the bench and in the locker room,it seems stuckey and jennings are benifiting from his knowlege and experience and ill take it.

Its sickening at the lack of respect for a guy who was our heart & soul during the best near decade of our franchise's history.

As for his play, father time is undefeated. He still has some left but some nights the knees are gonna feel good & some night they just arent.

Assuming he signed on here in part for a front office position once he retires - who would he have made that agreement with, because if it was with Joe D and he's fired - what happens then? Does Gores and the new President/GM honor it?

Regardless of play, he's one of the best teamates in the league as voted on by his peers - his veteran presence in the lockerroom is of great value to this team right now. Worth his spot and contract for lockerroom presence alone.

Kind of puzzled as to why we favoured paying $2.5 million for the ghost of Chauncey Billups, ahead of sticking with Kim English for minimum chips.

Chauncey will be fine. He will have more offers on the table than almost anyone for coaching, scouting, etc.

There are many (myself NOT included) that believe players that were underpaid for their career when they played at their best (Ben Wallace for example) deserve to be paid for past performance instead of current and future production.

We didn't sign Chauncey for his on the court product, we signed him for his vet leadership
