I would think so, but I doubt Joe D is ready to throw in the towel.

I really really hate Dumars. All we have done is fire coaches while he's the one who doesn't supply these coaches with the correct players to succeed. He's terrible and will continue to set us back if Gores does not step in now!!!

it was pretty much done before it even started, I think a Joe D "last gasp attempt" Monroe trade will probably be coming down soon unfortunately.

SO, WHAT WILL HAPPEN?
we'll go back and look at the tape, see what went wrong and go back out there and do what we have to do to win some ball games

Joe is going to make a desperation trade that we'll probably all hate and then he'll get fired (hi Jabari Parker). Or he'll make a magical trade happen that'll save our season. He knows this was his last season to win, and the fact that the east is so bad, and all the injuries there is no excuse. It's not all on cheeks. Joe put this roster together as if he was playing NBA 2K14, myGM mode.
It is embarrassing and i for one miss the old pistons. The players that came in everyday to work hard, play defense, wanted to win, cherished their playing time, bully ball. Honestly the Mad Ants could beat us.

The Big 3 will become a 3-big rotation playing exclusively at power forward and center.
Drummond will come off the bench and average around 28.5 minutes per game. his numbers will go UP.
Monroe will become more of an offensive threat in the post and passing. His boards will go up a bit.
Smoove will offer to be a jackknife who takes the backseat whenever possible and will avoid taking far shots. His defense and rebounding will go up.
The whole team will be smooth as a baby's butt.
There will be a startling trade that gets us a nice perimeter scorer and an extra perimeter shooter for Bynum, Stuckey, Jerebko, Mitchell and picks.
We get to the 2nd round and almost shock Miami or Indiana. But it won't be a shock, because we will be that hot of a team.
We will reminisce on how things didn't start that well. And argue over who stuck by Dumars the most.
I'm high.

Nothing will happen, but we'll also make the playoffs because we're in the terrible East. Bounced by Indiana/Miami in the first round and Joe D will still get a contract extension from Gores.

I'm so afraid of this. I would rather not even make the playoffs if it would mean Dumars is gone.

I'm still curious as to what the hell is different from that stretch we played against the elite teams. It's like night and Daye.

I have the feeling Josh Smith was acquired to be the PF of the future, despite what Dumars/Cheeks have said publicly.
Whether Monroe gets traded, benched or allwed to leave in FA....Smoove and Drummond will be a nice frontcourt tandem starting next year.

I feel like a small move MAY happen but nothing major because Dumars likes his guys and doesn't want to admit his mistakes. We'll make the playoffs. Before easily being dispatched by Indy or Miami. Dumars will somehow retain his job then we'll resign Stuckey.

They lead the league in points in the paint the first 30 games, but should blow it up and call it a failure because they lost the battle inside 2 games in a row? (against two very good frontcourts not to mention).
Sorry, I didn't follow the game thread tonight so I'm not up on the level of overreacting that's probably going on here right now. So excuse me if I think its ridiculous to go this overboard because of a few bad games inside.
Without this froncourt this team has nothing besides Jennings jumpshots. So after seeing what they look like with no interior presence the last few nights, your solution is to eliminate our dominance inside permanently by blowing it up?
I don't see how that solves anything. All that does is make us into a jumpshooting team every night, like the last two nights. I don't know about you, but I couldn't stand watching this team have no presence in the paint and just settling for jumpshots all game. The last thing I want is to have that type of team permanantly. The solution is in that locker room and getting our bigs back on track, not getting rid of them. We aren't geting better bigs in return for them, so I don't know what you are even thinking would happen by trading them.

How is it overreacting? Were a 8th seed in a terrible conference. We look really bad on both sides of the ball. We have no draft pick. And it's Basically January now. I understand you trying to polish a turd but that doesn't mean that it's not still a piece of ****.
