Im fed up.

If we were going to be this bad id rather be bad as a young upcoming team, not a team with 2 cancers locked in long term that are taking shots away from our young guys.

Jennings and smith got to go.

Please, for the love of god, get them off this team somebodyy.

I'm not that down on Jennings. I think he's producing really well considering his contract size, and that 99% of the defenses just pack the paint and leave him with little better options than to just put a shot up. We can dance around his shot selection, but his stat line is close to all-star quality outside of the shooting percentages.

Smith does need to go. He's a terrible fit with this team. I really hope that Moose isn't moved due to being the better trade chip. But, that's the likely outcome.

Josh Smith for Paul Pierce makes sense for both teams.

Jennings has been awesome in qtrs 1-3, definitely keep him.

Jennings has been a net negative.

Yes - he's kept us in games only he proceeds to shoot us out of them.

His defense is nil. For nought. Calling it defense is folly. He literally lets his man go by, like seriously pay attention next time. Guys go right by on more than half their possessions because he lets them, so he can try to get the steal from behind. If you add his long chucks that result in opposing teams easy fast break buckets he's been horrawful for us defensively.

Smith ill leave alone because I've ranted enough about that chump, he's not worth my time anymore.

Send Josh to Sacramento for Landry and Jimmer.

Yeah, I think some of our newer posters might need some coaching on what thoughts deserve a new thread and what thoughts are best expressed in some of the other threads we have that already, in one way or another, deal with this exact sentiment.

I wouldn't say awesome. He's been better than Smith for sure though. His scoring has been highly sporadic lately and his defense is consistently bad so awesome wouldn't be the word to use. Serviceable maybe.

Smith plays a position we basically have locked up already.

There's more to playing PG than just passing. Sadly many people on this board don't understand that. I want my my PG to be able to defend and be a respectable scoring (15ppg on 43% isn't asking for much) but Jennings can't do either. Heck, his playmaking hasn't even been consistent lately.

The only position that we can call "locked up" is center with Drummond. Everyone else is easily expendable.

But realistically it's going to be very hard to trade both guys so early in their contracts.
For me, Jennings does enough to balance his positives and negatives, Smith doesn't.

jenning's shot selection is bad. i hate his early in the shot clock shots, his horrible at the rim finishing, his over dribbling and his inability to use his off hand. I hate his weak defense and over gambling on steals. But i do like the fact that he can actually make a play for himself and for others. He can see the floor like a real PG (how long has it been since a piston could do that?) and he's lightning quick. He takes care of the ball for the most part and he does have the ability to hit a 3pt shot at a respectable rate which seems to be a rarity for this team. So far jennings has actually made me go from hating him, to disliking him. that quite the accomplishment.

Smith on the other hand has done the opposite since he has shown he is completely incapable of using his brain when playing.
it looks like he simply has no interest in being a perimeter defender, but he definitely fancies himself as a perimeter shooter for some reason. He is lazy when passing, but always goes for the hardest possible option.
i can't stand him. Even today against the knicks, we all saw a typical josh smith game.
Fills the stat sheet, but can't use his brain to save his sole. He's fools gold.

Yeah I know what you mean. It will be tough to dump both of them but I in a perfect world that is what we should do. I agree dumping Smith should be the priority right now. One step at a time.

Here' how i see it... we'd be better off as a team if Smith vanished rather than if Jennings vanished.

Jennings / KCP / Singler / Monroe / Drummond is better than Bynum / KCP / Smith / Monroe / Drummond.

See what i mean?? Jennings at least provides something we can use in playmaking and 3 pt shooting, where as smith doesn't. I thought his defense would be a big plus, but it hasn't proved to be.

This team would be much better off with Knight than Jennings. Said it after the trade. Don't give a **** who looks more like a true point guard. Is Jennings more of a true point guard because he's better at dribbling between his legs and attempting behind his back passes? Guy is a street baller with better on the ball skills than Knight but is bad at everything else. At least Knight defended and played hard. Knight could play off the ball...which would help a big frontline on offense.

Jennings has this defense scrambling each and every position. To make matters worse, with a bigger front court, this team is not equipped to scramble defensively.

Jennings is killing this team more than any other player. Yes, more than Smith. More than Monroe playing out of position. More than Drummond's youth. More than KCP being a bust. This team has no hope defensively with Jennings and they have no hope of any continuity on offense...because Jennings is more ball dominant than either Stuckey or Knight were and has less recognition of his limitations.
