Trey Burke has been getting better almost every game and is also getting more consistent with his jump shot. And here we are with "hopes" about KCP, good job again Joe, good friggin job

I am sorry but Burke is going to be a good but not great pg, when I watch him, I still see him as limited and think his ceiling is BJ right now. Passing on MCW is the dead horse to beat, and that's coming from a guy who was on the anti-MCW bandwagon

Yeah Burke doesn't impress me really, MCW however is another story. I get a Kyle Lowry vibe from him.

For some reason I still don't buy the hype for MCW. I think on another team he wouldn't play as well. Philly have nothing to play for and not really any good talent besides ET so it's basically his show. Put him on a team that's contending for a playoff spot and let's see him put up the same numbers then i will be impressed

Burke is averaging 11 points/ 6 assists/4 boards on 31% FG and 19% from deep this month, not sure how hes improving or why we'd regret passing on him

He's putting up double figures in points almost every game. That's more then I can say for KCP

and yet you are impressed with Burke, who is performing at a much lower rate on a slightly worse team.....

Give KCP 13 shots a game and he can put up 13 points too and he will do it while playing good defense.

Except that Burke has players that can actually play around him like Hayward and Favors. He's not even the first option on the team whereas by now I imagine MCW is

Burke averages 13 FGA (2nd most on his team)
MCW averages 15 FGA (2nd most on his team)

You clearly are a Michigan fan biased in Burke's favor despite his lackluster performances this season

Who we should REALLY regret passing on is Giannis Adetokumpo. The Greek Freak would be an incredible front court partner with Dre in the future.

KCP's excellent perimeter D, perfectly fine shooting, and developing offensive game are all perfectly fine by me though.

What if we had signed (overpaid) for say, Kyle Korver instead of JSmoove though? Or, after finding that no one was interested in signing him, decided to come off the bench for less money? Better hypotheticals IMO, more realistic than getting MCW or the Greek Freak.

I'll second this. I waffled on MCW a lot, I saw the good and the bad there. So far, the good has greatly outweighed the bad. I'd definitely prefer him to Burke. And of course, to KCP.

I never said Burke was perfect or that he was on MCW's level he just is clearly better than KCP right now and honestly despite his lower FG% i would rather have him as our backup PG over will bynum as I believe he's a way better passer. MCW made A LOT of teams regret passing up on him he came out of nowhere and it's a feel good story but saying burke has been lackluster is wrong. He did have good games this season he put up 30 points with 8 assists. Although that's only 1 game that's something expected from the likes of CP3. Just shows that his upside is higher then what you think.

I was a HUGE burke fan and wanted to draft him,but as the season has gone on ,we made the right choice. What ive seen out of kcp these last few games has me believing he can be a top sg in this league,sg his size, with his defense, with his quickness, with his hustle/heart,and his shooting are rare in this league, good pg are not and as much as I like burke he isnt going to be a rose-wall-westbrook-curry-irving,he"ll be more of a lowry-dragic-lawson-jennings-lin type.

Maybe we send them CV and Stuckey to eat some salary while taking on Giannis as reward.

Just to be clear, I'm UM alum, so I've got a built in Burke bias.

That being said, I think he will be a solid starting PG. All Star, probably not.

Now go back to the draft. We still had Knight, and we really didn't have a good PG or SG. Get to the 9th pick, we got a choice - KCP, Burke, Shabazz, or take a chance on someone else. KCP seemed like a solid choice. He wasn't a project - he's got a shot and can play D. And in that weak of a draft, we didn't have a lot of great choices. KCP was a very, very reasonable choice. Burke would have been too, although we wouldn't have traded for Jennings.

It is easy to look back at a draft and nit-pick. And we don't know what the right thing is until at least a year.

I love what I'm seeing from KCP. Burke could be good but the PG position is stacked and I don't ever see him being a top10 PG. KCP has that perfect blend of offense and defense and plays at one of the weakest positions in the league. KCP has the potential to be a top10 SG.

Giannis reminds me of Anthony Randolph, I doubt he amounts to much.

So you're basically saying
Kobe
Wade
Harden
KCP?

That is a HUGE stretch
