I love kcp and his defense but stuckey is getting it done on both ends of the floor.Should he be given the starting sg spot?Is stuckey to valuable to the bench?Regardless I think with stuckey starting it would upgrade the unit and then he wouldnt be relied on so heavely in the second half of games, what do you guys think?

I think Stuckey has found a good role off the bench.
He's been doing well with it, no point changing that now.
Singler on the other hand should start at SF.

That lineup in the 4th should be the starting lineup

Jennings
Stuckey
KCP
Smith
Drummond

That's probably about the best defensive 5 we can field with this roster. The only way we become a consistent team is by utilizing a more defensive lineup. I would really like to see this 5 start together and develop some chemistry.

Defense starts with passion. Schemes come after. Cheeks doesn't bring either. We will be a bad defensive team as long as cheeks is coach.

No. Stuckey is a better two-way player today but he probably won't be here next year. No point putting him back in the starting lineup now.

I agree, but in order to get that passion you need to field a lineup that is capable of succeeding. Its hard for players to get passionate about playing D when they know they have no chance of ever being great, lugging around Monroe.

That's the whole reason why you go with an athletic lineup like that, so that they CAN play with more passion on defense. I have no confidence in Cheeks schemes, but athleticism can overcome stupidity and cover up a lot of mistakes. If he would just put his 5 best athletes on the court and let them just play ball, I think we would see much more inspired, passionate, and successful defense.

It doesn't matter what scheme you draw up, if you have slow help defenders and can't switch anything, you will never be a good defense.

Yes, Stuckey should start.

At PG.

Stuckey
Pope
Singler
Monroe
Drummond

No, he absolutely shouldnt, for really the first time in his NBA career he has a stable role.

The constant jerking around of Stuckey is part of his previous inconsistencies.

Please don't. We saw what happened when we juggled his position left and right. His career almost went to scrub mode.

He's finally found his niche. Now if we can find a PG that can play decent defense and less chucking as well as a 3 and D SF, we should honestly be able to fully compete consistently without all the roller coasters.

I think Stuckey is flourishing in his role off the bench but because of Jennings lack of defense and wild inconsistency I would start Stuckey at PG and look to dump Jennings. I would try to package Jennings with Monroe for quality defensive SF and roll with

Stuckey/Billups
Caldwell-Pope
Insert SF/Singler
Smith
Drummond

This team needs to get back to defense. Period.

The only way I would consider him back in the starting lineup would be to get Jennings worthless ass outta there. But I'm sure Jennings would have a fit if Cheeks did that so Cheeks probably wouldn't have the balls.

There is a reason Stuckey is playing so well because he is dominating bench players and because this is his contract year.

He never has played well as a starter either as a PG or a SG and now we are back on the board asking for him to start...no thank you.

No chance in hell Stuckey signs with the Pistons for less than 7M and anything more than that is just too much for a sixth man. The way he is playing he can easily command a 3 year deal worth 30M. Look at what Tyreke Evans got this past summer after a terrible season in SacTown.

We need to use Stuckey and Charlie V's expiring deals to move the rest of our trash Datome, Jerebko, Bynum.

Why would he? He played great off the bench in this role all season and starting games isn't the problem, it's finishing them. Has nothing to do with the starting lineup. Not to mention, KCP has done really well in his role.

Both false, he's played plenty against other teams starters and at 3 different positions this year, and to say he never played well as a starter go back to 2010-11 and 2011-12, he played very well and with help could be a huge difference maker as a starter. I would much rather have him as the starting PG than Jennings but they both need better players around them to be their best.

Stuckeys in the role he's always been meant to be in, first option on the second unit. put him in the SL and he'll be fighting for shots with Smith and BJ. basically, if it aint broke, don't fix it.

i can't understand why are y'all thinking datome is trash... if singler is a good rotation player, why not datome? datome has played at one level in europe singler never has played... he was one of the best players of the best teams of the eurobasket (playing at PF because the frontcourt of Italy was weak), mvp of the lega like gallinari did...
i think y'all are from usa... you don't understand that moves to the nba needs adaptation, and he didn't speak english... and have a terrible coach, i wonder if cheeks would come here last year when singler was rookie, he would be playing right now?...

for all the guys who has watched FIBA basketball, Datome>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Singler, but if you only got 5 trash minutes you can't show so much

There's only one ball. Stuckey is best off being the sixth man.

Lol, Singler is a lot better than Datome. Who cares what Datome was doing over there. Most all those guys never do crap in the NBA. Remember Slava was regarded as one of the best players over there when we got him.

no, is so diferent than slava, slava don't play in a good league (ucrania), and he didn't play very well in his national team, but if you are comparising datome and kravtsov, it says you don't know nothing about europe basketball (no disrespectful, you don't have to)

is gallinari a good player for you? singler? bellinelli? delfino? he's an incredible shooter, he can creates his own shot from the dribble, he's an average defender and can finish to the rim, he isn't in the same line that bynum, jerebko (who before his injury was a good rotation player with hustle and could play d) or similar.

if we were signed obradovic as coach and not the goblin rat-face cheeks, and pretty sure datome would be the starter sf.
