Smith & CV for Nene & Porter?

Post#1 » by vic » Tue Jan 21, 2014 7:37 pm

Smith & CV
for Nene & Porter

Wizards get another athlete PF better than Vesely and Nene
Plus they get that pick & pop 4 Wall wants in CV.
Wall can get Smith buckets on the break and CV buckets in the halfcourt.

Pistons lose their cancers and get a highly rated SF that was injured and hasn’t had a chance to flourish.

This trade shows that Dumars is not an idiot, dedicates him to high IQ players… instead of trading Monroe and doubling down on chuck city basketball.

You do help Washington out but you keep Monroe, which is smart if you can put defenders and shooters around him... instead of chuckers.

Does that trade actually work?

Who would do it?
You need 2-way wings, 2-way shooting bigs, and you can't allow low iq players on the court. Assist/turnover ratio is crucial. Shooting point guards are icing on the cake IF they are plus defenders.
Weaver & Casey, govern yourselves accordingly!

I wouldn't give up expirings for Josh Smith. I have no desire to ever see him on the wiz. I'm happy with Nene simply finishing out his contract than being befuddled at Smith's contracts for another 3 seasons. I use to root for Smith...but he just never ceases to amaze me with how dumb his shot selection is (even if he is hot).

This.
The wiz fans seem to think Porter and filler could get Monroe, so i can't see them accepting Smith for that.

Porter is nowhere near Monroe in terms of value.....so I guess I don't care what Wiz FANS think.

I consider Nene a better player than Josh Smith in terms of overall impact, and he's got a year less on his deal than Smith.

I don't think they'd do a straight up trade, let alone throw in Porter.

Yeah I'm not sure why guys are beating up on Beal in here. 2nd year SG averaging 17ppg (41%fg and 44% from 3) to go along with 4 Rebs and 3 Ast. Kid looks pretty good to me and hes still on a rookie pay scale for a few years. I would trade Monroe for him in a second.

Beal's biggest problem is his inefficiency. Right now, he has a WP48 of .003. That's scary bad.

"Pistons lose their cancers"

Man if I were the Wizards' GM I would be jumping on this deal immediately, these types of players are a rare specimen in the league.

I was referring to guys on the t&t board saying he's untradable. He's very good don't get me wrong, but to say he's untouchable is a little much. And to say Monroe and KCP isn't close to fair value for him is off IMO.

That is fair/close value. And I agree, he certainly isn't untouchable. He just fits so well with Wall and our roster with his shooting touch, he's close to untouchable from a Wizards standpoint.
