Kendall Marshall

Post#1 » by jjaymes » Sat Jan 25, 2014 5:19 pm

What do you guys think of Kendall Marshall? He will be a free agent this summer right? As a starter he is averaging 12 pts and about 12 assists with only 3 turnovers and he is scoring efficiently. He has great size at 6'4" and 195 pounds. He was waived by Phoenix right? I don't know why they would give up on him so quickly but I would be very interested in going after him.

Marshall is really slow though. Have you seen him play? The guy is a snail but can get you assists, it's uncanny.

People get fooled by the D'Antoni system every year, making less than average role players look like game changers.

I don't know why we didn't go after him when Washington dumped him TBH.
It's such a fine line between stupid and clever.

Yea I don't see why we couldn't pick him up as our backup and if he were to turn into anything more then great.

I like him on the offensive side, but hes a liability on D and after watching Calderon and Jennings sorry attempts at playing defense recently id like for the next PG we bring in to be able to hold his own on that end.

I really like Peyton Siva, I think ANY professional guard looks like a star in a D'Antoni system, if you don't take care about defense. But here in Detroit, I want a guard who can really play D. Jennings has tools for, but he hasn't got the mind, he's a lazy player who can't get better at all because he thinks he's a star right now. Is so sad and funny at the same time to see him with a 3/12 in FG and when he scores an incredible shot he overreacted like "Yeah ****, I'm the hottest in da game right now u heard me? YOLO, SWAG!" That's a pathetic attitude. But I think with a coach like Hollins he could get a lot better.

I recall wanting him badly, even writing an article about it on another site when he was coming into the draft. When I saw him play his few minutes with the Suns, I regretted ever wanting him. Like others have said, he only looks like a beast because of the system he is playing in. He is slow, and I remember there was a LOT of chatter about his lack of work ethic from the Suns fans. His shooting averages will go back to normal soon...his biggest knock coming out of school was his poor shooting. For a while there he was posting daily instagram pics of him at Wendy's, while all the other players were instagraming pics at the gym. I have zero interest in Marshall.

Siva I think is a good locker room guy, with a winners mentality. I think he has the skills to be a solid backup once he gets used to the pro game. I think he should be getting 10 minutes a game to develop.

I don't know if he could ever be a good back-up but I would much rather see him getting the minutes that Bynum has been getting.

I can see siva being better than bynum, maybe not the shooter bynum is but with better passing and court vision and none of that hero ball crap, basicly what a good backup pg should be.

When I said good backup I didn't mean, per se, 6th man of the year good. Just better at what he does. He has always been a good playmaker and passer, I think he can improve on that immensely. He will never be an amazing shooter, though he was pretty solid from all over the floor during his D-League stint.
