Asked what makes the Pistons an attractive situation, Hollins cited the team's big-three front line of Andre Drummond, Greg Monroe and Josh Smith.

"I think sometimes the three-headed monster is tough to play together but there’s ways to work around that," Hollins said. "But I like Josh Smith. I like Brandon Jennings as a dynamic point guard who can put up a lot of points. I think they need to learn how to win. I think they need to learn how to play together on a consistent basis and play hard, but they’ve got some intriguing pieces that make me say, ‘Wow, there’s possibilities there.' ”

Its interesting to hear the #1 coach on the market cite Smith and the big frontline as the reason he's attracted to the job. Which leads me to believe the Pistons aren't going to be selling off any major pieces for 50 cents on the dollar for a better fit, or just for capspace.

Now that they are in the market for a new coach, you want to have the most talent possible in place to attract the best coach's, and also what you may think fits this system may not even fit the next coach. So I'm guessing they aren't going to be making any major trades anymore, until they have settled on their permanent coach and know what he wants. I think we will probably make some minor moves to add some cheap shooters though.

As much as I am loving loyer right now, if hollins is interested in the job we should sign him asap. He would be the perfect coach for this roster.

Somebody in the FO needs to pick up the phone. Coaches like Lionel Hollins don't grow on trees.

Hollins would be amazing

for the simple fact that hes an og that would choke Josh out if he kept taking dumb ass shots.

lol

I predict a Cavs win here tonight. 107-96.

As for Hollins - he comes off as too desperate to me. Look, Loyer has been given the gig for the rest of the season, so now he's campaigning for the job at the expense of a currently employed coach - is that ever done?

Either Pistons make the playoffs and Loyer has to be kept, and Dumars is likely kept as a result or the Pistons miss the play-offs and both are gone and the new GM will hire his own HC. No way you hamstring the possible GM search by hiring Hollins on for a 3-4 year deal - because then you'll greatly limit your GM search and quality of candidate as top guys will not come in without being able to hire their own coaching staff.

This game would be lovely if the Cavs shoot poorly and Detroit crashes the glass, also limiting penetration.

Just feed Moose. His work out of the high post while Josh cuts is what we need to be doing all game.

Zach Lowe pointed out Josh barely made any cuts throughout the season when he's so good at it with his athleticism.
