At the very least I think we should look at him as a dominnat big I think he'd know how to utilize drummond. He's been passed over a lot and I think that we need a new coach instead of constant retreads.

I would want sheed to get some experience more, with what I saw with curry I wouldnt want to throw sheed into the fire and who knows brian shaw was an assistant and really helped george go from a player who could only play defense to a first option on a title team. I think he's moe valuable if he continues to work with drummond.

We just need a coach who has the patience and the know how to grow a center with superstar offensive and defensive potential.

If we want another head coach who matches the IQ of some of our players then by all means.

I just remember him talking during the lockout:

“We might make a lot of money but, we also spend a lot of money.”

No. Just no.

Reminds me too much of Cheeks. Great player. Great assistant. Not HC material though.

Serious question - what has he done to prove he deserves a head coaching position? I know he's done some campaigning and had a storied playing career, but what has done as an assistant or in the nbdl or whatever to show he can actually coach? I haven't payed any attention to what he's been doing since... um... forever.

And just on a tangent, what happened to all the Lamb fans? For a while his name was being thrown around all over the place on this board.

Why would we want Curry 2.0?

I would definitely be excited if Ewing was hired as an assistant- as I would be hopefully he could help Andre, and whomever else happens to be on the roster next season.

But, it's a hard pass on the idea of him being the team's head coach. While the next HC doesn't have to be a proven commodity in my opinion, there's probably a few solid reasons that Ewing has consistently been passed on for coaching vacancies.

People need to stop buying directly into name-value. Tom Thibodeau wasn't a household name before taking over the Bulls. Neither was Frank Vogel.

To be completely fair, Ewing has been serving as an assistant coach for a good 5-6 years. He was serving under the likes of Stan Van Gundy for I think around 4-5 years and joined the Bobcats staff this year. The Bobcats have Clifford who has done an amazing job turning the Bobcats' league worst defense into a top 5 defense this year with some pretty poor defenders such as Al Jefferson getting big minutes. I would think that Ewing has learned a good amount of defensive tactics because of who he has served under.

edit: actually I'm not sure how long Ewing spent with Van Gundy, but I do know that he was an assistant for him at least 1 year

I'd prefer Bill Laimbeer.

I'd imagine we'll be hiring someone that buys into analytics and we'll get a GM who does the same.

I doubt Ewing fits that bill

I'd prefer Izzo. Not realistic? Then give me Hollins.

Id rather focus on a coach that can contain opposing teams players... Namely josh smith and brandon jennings.
